This only got made because Kenny Omega is a video game enthusiest and he thought AEW has earned their own video game even when the company was still very new. This is why Tony needs to grow a spine, had he told Kenny "no" he would've saved a bunch of money and could've wait to see if there's an actual demand for an AEW video game rather than letting Kenny do whatever the fuck he wants. Also, even if he was ok with it after seeing how shitty the game looks (like legit looks like a ps2 game) and the absurd dlc prices he should've made a decision to shift the development team or at least make sure someone supervises this crap.

It’s an incredible failure I rarely see talked about. A billion dollar company with executives that are genuinely interested in video games. They’re astute enough to know people yearned for another no mercy which they promised. It showed that Kenny omega and the bucks are as bad at creating video games as they are as wrestlers. Phony and full of entirely bravado. There’s no substance here. No season mode. No wrestlers. NO ENTRANCES!!!! There’s nothing here. Nothing and for Kenny to claim to be some giant fan, he loses the chance to every criticize a game ever again because he’s the worst. There’s no recovering. The people that make it don’t understand innately what people like (INTERACTIVE CONTENT!) and make what their weird asses like. Just like their wrestling

@@shai310yeah it’s horrendous in its management. With jazwares, their figures are close to Mattel’s but just don’t have that final punch. The paints dull, look cartoonish and fall apart. So I stopped buying them outside of extreme circumstances. It appears their games mo is no different

Well then he must know how to make a decent to great wrestling game to serve as a foundation! Nope. Omega sucks at life, and this game deserves to be free on services like gamepass. Awful. Even that beach map looks like trash. It looks like an interactive photo, not some crazy spectacle like op remembers them as being. They were never this lazily created. There’s a reason people remember the maps like you literally said. This ain’t one. It’s worse than a 2k caw

I haven’t played Fight Forever in months and like everyone says it’s because there’s no other match types like a steel cage and handicap match etc. But maybe in the future they will add in more match types

Forget match types, having a long term mode you can invest in like season mode or franchise mode and if you’re smart having those in addition to a story mode. Story mode only is a recipe for disaster. That’s far more important than adding things like cages on the huge list of things needing fixing

Its because of its amazing gameplay and insane match variety. Elimination chamber, 3 stages of hell, hell in a cell, tables, backstage brawls, cage, handicap, 1st blood, tlc, last man standing, elimination, tornado, ironman and most of these matches you can mix up to up to 6 players. Best part of wrestling games has always been playing with friends doing crazy matches. You’re a fool to think otherwise

Gotta say as rough as this game ended up being, me and my friends have had a great time hanging out and playing random matches when we get together. The new dlc characters for s3, the beach, A TON of new updates for caws, they’re definitely trying now. But for most people, it’s likely too late

The more I hear about Fight Forever, the more I'm glad I just borrowed it through my library. It feels like it had so much potential, but none of that potential was ever capitalized on.

Fact is that 2K24 Is releasing 5 DLC packs with 5 wrestlers in most of them. We are getting 24 DLC characters for $30 season Pass. One DLC character on AEW FF is $15, and yet the model isn't as polished or well made. If you downloaded the entire AEW FF roster as CAWs from CC on WWE 2K24, they would look better than the in-game models on AEW Fight Forever.

The best AEW game is WWE 2K23.

Remember when people were saying this game was going to be the "WWE 2k killer"? Good times. Never change AEW marks.

The things that will have me come back to this game is if they add 2v2 tornado, backstage brawl, steel cage, more than 4 wrestlers in 1 match, make the fighting in Stadium Stampede how it is in the main game, public lobbies online because I don't like that it searches an opponent that takes a long time and if they're not gonna do public lobbies then they need to at least make the online crossplay that way it will be easier and quicker to find players. If they added all of those things that I just mentioned then I bet a lot of people would come back to this game.

the fact they had exactly 8 pre-set faces for the male CAW and 4 for female ones on launch was a huge turn-off for me. I wouldn't really mind the game not having sliders, but this is so bare-bones it's sad, then they went on to brag about how many CAW *slots* there were... bruv, I don't know if the devs added more faces as of now, but idk, it still doesn't seem like the game got the shot in the arm it needed, that said, I don't doubt there's a number of people who're still really into it. maybe I'd enjoy it, but just looking into it, it still doesn't do much for me

2k24 had creation suite in mind from the very beginning and didn't go with party games. PGs aren't inherently bad, it's just no wrestling game player wants them and no casual fan is going to seek out AEW FF for their mini-game fix when Mario Party exists.

I actually just downloaded both Season Passes on my Nintendo Switch last night. I especially loved the 2 Beach arenas we got.

This game could have been saved. You made the no mans sky analogy in the video, but the way that game was handled was perfect. Disastrous launch, but the devs put the time and effort into free updates and built up goodwill amongst fans and are getting ready to launch their new game. Hell, at this point they could release paid DLC for No Mans Sky and people would but it because they see that the devs care. With Fight Forever theyve literally just chucked out DLC pack after DLC pack, expecting people to pay for a few extra roster members and whatnot to slightly enhance their experience when the overall experience isnt great to begin with. I liked fight forever, for a while, i got it half price on switch and to be fair i feel like i somewhat got my moneys worth. I got a fun little portable wrestling game. But thats more down to the switch. If i had bought it on PC or console i wouldnt be saying the same thing unfortunately. And thats the problem.

If you actually look at the numbers of players, it's nobody. More people work for AEW then play their games.

The fact that this is the same studio that made the amazing wwe2k19 is mind boggling

That’s literally what bought me into the hype to get the Elite Edition pre-pay.

Besides the Creation Mode being a bit lacking in quality, it was having to pay for the extra content that really irritated me. When I initially pre-ordered and got the game, I was under the assumption that all future DLC was already covered for me. To find out that it wasn't the case really pissed me off.

Why is tony storm the size of Miro?

So not only is it 70 dollars you still have to pay for DLC that's over priced woe we are for the fans they say I don't think so.

On launch day my first online match was against a guy with already 107 matches. I bet i wouldnt be able to find anyone now. Like you said its a good in and out but not something i would play everyday.

My expectation was too high for this game, back then...

The best thing about Fight Forever is that it made WWE 2K try harder, 2k24 looks truly amazing, and you can see they took a few things from FF, throwing weapons, the blood, the hard cam on the ramp... 2K took things above and beyond with 4 new match types, and several new small details that add a lot to the experience, they really put some hard work on this one to show how bad Fight Forever really is

I like being able to emulate or simulate and play a wrestling match some days and other days like to have fun and havoc in an arcade style game.

ever since the game has come out ive asked for a alternate kick out method, im mashing my buttons and i still lose, and i hate mashing the buttons on my controller so at least come up with a new mini game.. but the games been out for like a year+ now its never gonna get added unless its added as a Add-On for sEaSoN pAsS 4

"She's been doing her Timeless gimmick for nearly a year now" It started at the beginning of OCTOBER and her DLC was completed in November. She's a ridiculously overpriced DLC character (5 extra music packs makes her OVER double the price of Jamie Hayter for some reason) but I do think the outdated gimmick is understandable... I just don't know why they didn't include her new theme as one of the 10 music packs since we can customise entrances to have a black and white filter and give her a black attire.

Well AEW fight forever need to catch up with game with definitely have more budget, match type and wrestlers to play with. Did nt forget the community creations to recreate AEW wrestlers and arena easily. So yeah, AEW FF need a lot of updates, features, match types and more touch up on their current features. But again this is their 1st game, lets see the sequels can be better.

I really wanted this game to work but just no coming back. Best thing AEW could do if they want to release games in future is to either put pressure on the dev to make the next game far better and cheaper from the base game or just change to a different company to make games for their brand But it’s just the overall problem with modern gaming, base games incomplete, bugs/glitches from the get-go, micro transactions etc. just takes the fun away. If I were everyone I’d just get a ps2/N64 from these retros game stores or online marketplaces and rebuild your collections of the games AEW was inspired by originally!!!

Putting pressure on the devs was half the problem. Kenny Omega was putting pressure on the devs since day one, and demanded mini-games and other things, rather than what the devs wanted to put in. It was so bad that reportedly one of Yukes guys jumped ship to Visual Concepts and helped develop the WWE 2K24 game instead, where they are left to develop, and WWE only tick off on things, rather than tell them how to do their jobs. You don't see Xavier Woods demanding Visual Concepts put things into games (except when he joked that they should have included him as a Cena rival in Showcase in 2K23). Let the cooks cook.

I have loved wrestling games since Pro Wrestling on the NES back in 1986. I bought AEW FF (PS5) for $20 from Amazon and received it yesterday. After playing for an hour, my hands hurt, and I lost interest. I'll give it another chance. However, with WWE 2K24 coming out this week, as well as Tekken 8, SF6, and King Of Fighters 13 & 15 in my current gaming rotation, I don't see Fight Forever getting much attention from me. Oh well, at least I didn't pay full price. As a wrestling fan, I'll keep AEW FF, just to have it in my wrestling game collection. Better luck next time, AEW and Yukes...

I love this game but yeah even I get eventually bored because there's not much else to do. I welcome any new content, at least season 3 was cheaper than season 2, but I haven't paid for either of them yet because they don't seem worth the price tag. Toni Storm has been doing the timeless gimmick for barely half a year, not for one year.

$40 bundle out now with all four season passes! Grabbed the base game in the summer sale so I figured I’d grab it.

Wait, so the base game is still $60+, and then another $70+ for all three DLC Season Passes? For a PS3 looking game with limited options and replay value? That's $20 more expensive than the highest tier of 2K24 editions available, and the amount of content you get for your money from 2K is exponentially better in terms of both quantity and quality.

This game would have been a great weekend rental as a kid back in the day, unfortunately as an adult paying full price for it, a little harder to swallow

Like the game looks like it would be fun for about a day and I still haven't played it but it's definitely not worth £63 lake if there was some sort of universe mode I might be interested to pick it up
