My favorite Steven Story is that in 80’s Steve was so high in studio that old Aerosmith song came on radio and Steven didn’t recognize that it was their song and suggested they cover it. Joe Perry yelled to him:” It’s us you fuckhead.”

Haha. Steven said after a year and a half of touring and doing this song he was getting a little burnt out and would change it up and sing “I DONT WANT TO KISS THAT THING!!!” lol He’s got the best stories. Read their 1997 autobiography Walk This Way. One of the best, most interesting books I’ve ever read.

Fact: this song was written by Diane Warren. She's so underrated when she has written an amount of very famous songs like this or Because you loved me (Celine Dion) or Un-break my heart (Ton Braxton). Absolute classic, anyway.

Great take and review of Aerosmith. I have seen Aerosmith live 8 times in 5 different decades, 3 in high school in the '70's first time in 1973, and the last in 2001. In my opinion they are the best live performaning band I have seen. And I've seen The Who(1989) Pink Floyd (1995), Queen, Van Halen (3x in the '80), Black Sabbath (1971) Ozzy (4x), Deep Purple (1971), Grand Funk Railroad (1970), ACDC (4x), Guns and Roses (5x), Metallica (4x), Stevie Ray Vaughn (3x), Grateful Dead and Jefferson Airplane (1972), Kenny G, Harry Connick Jr, Streisand, Neil Diamond, Willie Nelson (7x), James Taylor, CSN&Y, Jimmy Buffet (4x), Leon Russell (Delany Bonnie and Friends and solo) Dr John, BBKing and Carlos Santana. plus so many others... Aerosmith live is by far the best show.

@@gregharmon3797 I was fortunately born at the right time to witness the best 10 years of rock, folk, blues and jazz - 1965 to 1975. Grew up in southeast Texas with Houston/Galveston and hour and a half west, Lake Charles, LA an hour and a half east, Baton Rouge and Austin 3 hours out, New Orleans, Shreveport, Dallas and San Antonio 4 hours away in different direction. Plus a mom that work at the local University, that'd keep me posted on which tours were happening, by talking to her students. That and getting a subscription to Rolling Stone magazine. I had my own money from summer jobs, and eventually after school jobs. I spent my money on hi-fi equipment, albums and concert tickets. It was just short of an addiction. Still is, except I have been priced out of the big name shows. To think I once saw Mountain, Jefferson Airplane and The Grateful Dead in the same show, for $2.00...

I got to see Aerosmith live in concert in Salt Lake City about 20 years ago when I was homeless. I was heading to the shelter and a scalper handed me a ticket. That was the most unforgettable moment in my life. I never would have imagined being given tickets to Aerosmith let alone when I was homeless.

Also in the suggestions for this video is one with Steven doing this song with Taylor Swift, I haven’t watched but I saved the song already. This song was playing in the background of a scene in the movie Armageddon with Steve’s daughter Liv Tyler in it.

The studio version of a song is the idealized version of the song. Live performances may or may not be anything like the studio version. If you have to do one hundred takes to get it right you may want to change the song to something you can perform one hundred times and get it most of them.

I hate that great singers are forced to age out of the thing they and we love most. Life is a slow burn that goes too fast at times. Loved Aerosmith since the early 80s. My little wife loved their music as well. Lost her in 2019 suddenly. Life is a flame that burns bright and strong for a good while and then its gone. With rocks and the screaming singers it can come to an end sooner than anyone wished as the voice goes of the hips or knees. Im 54 now myself and not that 18 year old I was . I know it all. At least music seems timeless.
