    Nice review. The fidlock gives me anxiety, a great way to lose all your most valuable items, especially if on a bike. I ended up putting a screwed karabiner through the two loops that pass through the fidlock on the outside as a fail-safe.

    I’ve been watching sling videos for days. Best, most practical info as well as honest and straight forward. You sound like someone who has been actually using the gear who’s able to offer a practical, meaningful eval. I’ll be watching you for reviews on other gear.

    I will be traveling to Thailand in January. Based on your video, I will be ordering this bang. Do you think that the xpac is worth the extra $26 compared to just the Day Sling 3?

  • @Pack_roam

    @Pack_roam

    To me, yes. You get the waterproof properties of the x-pac and the aquaguard zippers all the way around. Plus, the orange interior is just cool. January looks like the dry season in Thailand, so maybe waterproof isn’t that important to you. I’d still prefer the x-pac.

    @@Pack_roam I got the xpac and it arrived last Thursday just in time for a weekend vacation to Niagara Falls. I have to say, I am so happy I decided to buy this sling bag. It made life so much easier while walking around the city and exploring the National Park. Very water resistant as none of belongings got wet while doing activities such as Cave of the Winds and Maid of the Mist. Thank you again for making this video. For anyone else reading this, just get it!!! You won't be disappointed!!!!

    @@itun1105 Excellent! Glad you like it. It’s a great sling, Love mine. Haven’t been to Niagara Falls in a long time, but seems like a pretty good place to test out the water resistance if I’m remembering correctly.

    I've been interested in Aer slings and your review is great. If you want to stow the strap, you can use a ranger band. (You can make your own, any length from a bicycle inner tube.) It also adds a type of grip to keep a sling from sliding around. If you pack the sling to full capacity does the contents dig into your back?

  • @Pack_roam

    @Pack_roam

    Thanks for the tip! I haven’t had an issue with contents digging into my back and I’ve had it pretty stuffed. I suppose it could though, depending on what you put in it. There’s no padding, but there is a few layers of material between contents and your back, especially in the main pocket.

    Would you be able to store an A6 Memobottle in that front pocket? Or a 700ml Vapur bottle?

  • @Pack_roam

    @Pack_roam

    I’ve got a 1000ml Vapur bottle that just barely fits in the front pocket rolled up. A6 Memobottle no. Description says the A6 is 4.4” wide x 7.7” high. That front pocket has a depth of about 3.5”.

    I’ve had this sling for well over a year and have travelled a lot with it, inc a 3 week trip across Vietnam. The fid lock has never come undone on me and I really enjoy using it, makes getting the sling off quickly very easy. Great review!

    @@ryztofu Put some elastic band or hair tie over it and it's good to go. I don't really unbuckle much and prefer removing from over my head anyway. Hope they'll implement removable straps in the future iterations.
