@@servenfanin the book, we only hear an account from a maester. Obviously Rhaenerya would play up the intent, to villanize the greens more. HBOs interpretation is actually very plausible

The contrast between Rhaenyra’s children and Alicent’s children is brilliant. It shows how much children really do pick up on things and how hate can be passed down whether you intend it to be or not

Aemond really does represent the greatest tragedy of the Dance. Dilligent, focused and strong, but raised as a weapon by the Greens. He has always had something to prove, a fact that would endanger him throughout his childhood and leave him little more than a child when the war began. Alicent had plenty of problems when she fell into queenship but she really was not equipped to be a mother to so many children when she was so young. That Aemond represents her best work as a mother is a reflection of how cruel the Game of Thrones is to the women and children embroiled in it.

@kamui66669 thats some hard copium. Daemon died together with Aemond. There is no chance that he survived. Maybe if he was mounted on his dragon then maybe somehow... But leaping from dragons back sealed his fate. So it was draw. Blacks lost as much. Even more cuz lose of Daemon sent Rhaenerys even deeper into madness and in the end Greens won thanks to that and history remembers King Aegon II and princess Rhaenyra as fat whore. Nettles was spotted many years later living as savage, half-mad and starved, ALONE in cavern together with her dragon.

He does have my sympathy, youre outcasted, bullied by family, your older brother sides with your ilelgitimate cousins over you. No one gives a fuck or helps you and then you spend years training and get some semblance of a win, get the biggest dragon, train with weapons, train your mind, hone your senses. and NOW that hes a threat he gets the disrespect all over again. If youfind yourself hating aemond, you might be the problem in the first place. He traded an eye for a dragon, he was jumped after defending himself and for what? because he was a fraction of the asshole that hes been dealing with his entire life??? Everyone wants a villain till they have to deal with one.

I was so high on Aemond.. he was the only one from the Greens i really liked. I lost some respect for him though after he lost his cool and control of Vhagar. I wonder what his temperament and demeanor will be like next season. Can't wait!

What was he expecting? To just play around? How do you expect a baby dragon like arrax to react when he's being chased by the biggest and most fierce dragon he has ever seen, of course he would at least try to fight before being eaten.

I personally loved the storm’s end hall scene. when he just looks at Lucerys but is terrifying, then the eye reveal, then the unhinged screaming… just chefs kiss

Sure the kinky freak woman loke him but come back to this comment when its said and done. Look how they made Aemond have so much sympathy and remorse after killing his cousin, that wasn't in the books. The show directors seem to strongly dislike Daemond and have some feminist agenda, I'm just early at seeing the writing on the wall. Aemond is the anti hero of this show.

I am for the Blacks. Otto and Alicent created the rift between the children for their own means. Alicent has some redeeming qualities, but got caught up in her sanctimony. Otto plotting to kill Rhaenyra all those years was unforgivable given his supposed “friendship” with the king.
