TESTIMONIALS
‘Started hitting the moves laid out in these courses the very next class...extremely uplifting to have such a quick improvement in my game’ - Houston, TX
‘I’m the only white belt in the academy doing these moves…I’m suddenly competing at a blue belt and above level…thanks Coach Tom’ - LA, California
‘Some of the best strategies you are going to see for control and submission’ - London, UK
‘The detailed way Prof Tom breaks down his moves into the absolute essentials is just next level for me. This is absolute gold‘ - Sydney, Australia
‘Most of the guys at my Academy, have about 60lbs on me, but since purchasing your ‘Kimura Attack system’ and ’14 days’ everything has changed. I feel much more confident, roll better and the guys on the mat have commented on the same. Thanks, Coach Tom’ - Dallas, TX
‘I know you have your names for your courses, but I’ve renamed them the ‘Zero to hero’ courses, I went from getting constantly owned, to now being completely dominant on the mat in no time at all’ - San Diego, California
‘I use the course material heaps, and just recently put it into action at a local comp, walked away with double gold. No one was more surprised than me! - Miami, Florida
‘As a new white belt, these classes have helped me so much, Prof Tom’s technique, the details, and his attitude. I love how Prof. Tom shows the ‘mistakes people make’ and then shows the correct way of doing things. The only one I have ever seen do this’ - New York, New York
Great videos, great instruction. I just watch them for hours…Melbourne, Australia
‘The instructional saved me big time at a recent comp, my opponent was def more experienced, but that was ok, coz I had Prof Tom’s video in my brain. Nailed it and scored gold’ - Colorado, Denver
‘All of it. Everything you show in your awesome videos are now my ‘go to techniques’. Thanks for your vids Prof, Tom’ - Houston, TX

Professor, would love a video on the first 5-10 things a brand new white belt should learn. I’ve seen your past ones, but a “must know” video would be great. I’m trying to get started, but there’s just so much to learn it’s hard to know what to “master” first without getting distracted by other techniques.

As a purple belt I think the physical things in the very beginning are MINIMAL and the mental things are CRUCIAL…here’s 10 things in no particular order: 1) show up consistently / don’t beat yourself up if you miss a day 2) don’t try to cram / learn it all at once 3) focus on frames for space and defense 4) hip escape/shrimp to create space 5) hip bump to create space 6) breath control…slowwwwww down 7) guard retention…use your legs! 8) guard pass…lose his legs ;) 9) don’t fight the tap to avoid injury 10) keep your ego in check

@@ryanmcnally2227 thanks man that’s a great start. Things like 3-5 are good examples of things I know but still don’t perform 100% in the moment. Even basics like keeping my elbows in I don’t remember until someone already has a hammerlock on my arm…

@@ParrotTactical Killer list at risk of over complicating I just want to make a few additions as a Blue from a gym voted top 20 in the world. 1 ) show up consistently / don't beat yourself up if you miss a day 1a) some of my best training days were days I wanted to be there the least. 6) breath control...slowwwwww down 6a) try saying your abc's. The goal is to say as many letters CALMLY as you can with each breath. I learned this during my time as a fire fighter. If it's good enough for that is good enough for this. 9) don't fight the tap to avoid injury 9a) in the beginning tap early, tap often. 10) keep your ego in check 10a) or the mats will do it for you. 11) when you're ready to start thinking about submissions remember: position over submission. Do not lose position being stubborn for a specific submission. 12) when you get a chance to work your top game (it'll happen sooner than you think) remember: sometimes you need to be a spring, sometimes you need to be a wet towel. I hope I said something of value for you here.

Absolutely - learned this the hard way 😜 - this also keeps your hips nice & close to the opponent…I used to try to extend the arm from a little too far away.
