I practically lived in the library during college. So much so that I was close friends with one of the librarians. I was discovering JBP in 2018 when she asked me for book suggestions for their periodic purchases. Of course, I suggested 12 Rules for Life. Her senior, however, said the author was “too controversial”. Ironically, the same library had advocated for years against banned books-on public displays, even. 😏

"Too controversial" usually means "I disagree with this man personally". University is an absolute waste of time and space for most people. Thank you so much for prayers. I have found my peace in Islam and I am not trying to cause division. I just think Islam in the truth. Thank you for wishing me good things. I wish you all the best, it is not all about what we follow. It is all about having peace and spreading love. {Allah is He, than Whom there is no other god;- Who knows (all things) both secret and open; He, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. Allah is He, than Whom there is no other god;- the Sovereign, the Holy One, the Source of Peace (and Perfection), the Guardian of Faith, the Preserver of Safety, the Exalted in Might, the Irresistible, the Supreme: Glory to Allah! (High is He) above the partners they attribute to Him. He is Allah, the Creator, the Evolver, the Bestower of Forms (or Colours). To Him belong the Most Beautiful Names: whatever is in the heavens and on earth, doth declare His Praises and Glory: and He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.} (59:22) Sometimes life is challenging me to let go of my will and let God do His. If I succeed, I will show love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Then when I do say something, the person or persons to whom I’m speaking will know I have their best interests at heart. Some may not agree, and some will still get angry, but others may sense God’s spirit and want to know more.

Something I’m not seeing getting touched on here. When you encounter conflict, especially this type of conflict surrounding ideas and principles where you feel like you’re going to be viewed in an unfavourable manner and there’s tremendous social pressure on you, you need to be able to control your physiology. Your heart rate is going to elevate, you’re going to feel that fluttery feeling in your stomach, you might start sweating, it’s going to be hard to corral your thoughts and express them in an articulate and measured fashion. Learn how to get your physiology under control and then you will be able to express your thoughts in a very sharp way which will make it much more difficult for the left-leaning types to pile onto you. Their tactics deliberately try to stir up your physiology so you’re not in a state which is conducive to measured and controlled articulation. That’s how they win. They swarm and they intimidate. Master your physiology and you will be a force to be reckoned with. Calm, calculated articulation always wins.

I think conservatives generally opt to remain silent if they know they are in the presence of those that hold a contrary view. People don't want to risk being chastised for holding unpopular opinions. And even if you join conservative student clubs, you're just mingling around those with the same political stripe so it's not exactly helpful for swaying individual perspectives.

Creating an argument in support of your position ( to earn a grade that contradicts your professor) is a great skill to develop. When I work with my clients - be they in their mid 20's or mid 70's I am helping them to speak their truth. It is all part of the muscle of self advocacy.

The funny thing is we listen to Jordan Peterson and all his knowledge, but the only reason he is this articulate and captivating is because he read so much stuff. We should do the same and reduce our video and social media intake and read a lot, our future selves will thank us… Just food for thought

Having been through the college system (granted: my college wasnt too bad, though they did hire a DIE advisor the semester after I graduated), my recommendation would be to know what you believe and why. Boil it down to your worldview. If that makes you conservative, good. If that makes you democrat, good. If that makes you liberal/leftist, look for what you missed.

As a conservative attending a community college in Cali, I have had several professors who were absolutely determined to teach woke ideology in the class. One professor in my first semester was having us read black stories and giving lectures that subtly talked about Critical Race Theory in order to racebait and shame us, and she was an english professor; same deal 2nd semester with another english professor. These professors either can't do their job or refuse to teach what they are supposed to. Because they refuse to actually teach the course, I have had to back out and unenroll from several of these classes, and I now have to do 3 years of JC instead of just 2 years. Let me provide an example. I have a professor who teaches macroeconomics, and at the start of this semester he gave the class an introductory assignment that required you to put pronouns on your school profile. I didn't put any (and I'm positive a couple other students didn't as well), and he docked me 2 points off for that. I was not impressed with him for that, and I am especially not impressed after having watched his lectures and seen how his class works. Professor Pronouns has video lectures and slides posted for his students to read or watch, but I only read through the slides. The reason being that when you watch the videos, Professor Pronouns looks like he's struggling to teach; he will speak most of the time like he's reading off of the slides, he has a thick korean accent that makes it very hard to understand him, and he explains the material in such a way that you will never memorize anything. If you read the slides, you might note that there are quite a few spelling errors or grammar mistakes, and I believe that's because he does not know the English language very well. I should also mention that he is not a fair grader, he will shame you if you miss due dates or try explaining to him why, and he hands out loads of work. I needed to attend a celebration of life party for one of my dad's friends who passed recently, I let him know about it when I was catching up and he said "your party is not an excuse..." I felt like he was being really insensitive when I read it, and its only lead to my further disliking him. The point being is that you have very few, if any, friends in a college environment. You are better off doing the work, taking the tests, and showing the professor you're learning. Don't bring anything up because the professors or staff could decide that they need to teach you a lesson and mess with your grades, schedule, etc. I recommend using a website called 'Rate My Professors', there are students who have taken or are currently taking certain courses for a professor, and they will let you give them a score, show your grade, etc. and explain why you gave them that rating. My only friend in this environment is my counselor, and when I tell him about it, even he agrees that they're stepping over the line.

I went to college because I thought these professors knew things that I didn't. I wouldn't have thought to be so on guard against them as he's suggesting. The thoughts of a wise tenured professor vs the ignorant hillbillies I grew up around. I generally assumed my professors were right. It wasn't until much later that I realized how detached they were from the real world and practical knowledge that they were. The hillbillies didn't have doctorates and were frequently terribly inarticulate, but their knowledge was practical and tested by experience.

So put simply, never question your own views. You're obviously right, and considering what the other side has to say will just corrupt you. That's why we need freedom of speech and need to protect our books--just like they're doing in Floridian schools--so people can't ever have the chance to cause us to change our minds. Self-contradictory brilliance.

If the opposition's arguments are convincing enough to change our minds, maybe we need to work on our own arguments. Or maybe...our side is wrong and and it's good to accept the opposing view. Why do people adopt evolution in college? Is it because we're brainwashed or because we realize we've been brainwashed coming up? The same is true for conservatism.

Here's a bit of encouragement for conservative college students: woke professors, and especially woke students, are virtually never very bright or brave. And also, you never know exactly how many people in a class will agree with you until you voice your opinion. There's probably more silent support awaiting you than you realize.

I work at a call center in Jamaica for Amazon and they are telling us not to use gender pronouns and instead should use they them, most people in Jamaica don't seem to realize what's happening in America and how this ideology is spreading so they laugh and go along with it, last time I did a review with my supervisor she pointed out that I'm using he and she (gender pronouns) and was reminding me not to do it. She doesn't seem to be aware of what's happening but on the phone I use these gender pronouns and also when I'm writing and I'm gonna increase using them. I'll push it to the point where I'm losing the job and perhaps them maybe I'll stop a bit. I didn't even explain to my supervisor the reason I continue to use those pronouns she might be thinking I'm slow to not comply, but I refuse to call a pregnant woman they them, I refuse to deny men and women are different and I'm looking for a new job as well. I went to university and has been following the culture wars in America, I know what's up. I believe now more than every we better be careful not to lie and be willfully blind. I'm practicing truth as an adventure.
