Adventurous Woman’s Remote Off-Grid Tiny House In Australia

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Have you ever dreamed of building a beautiful off-off-grid tiny home and moving to a rural community to be part of a growing permaculture farm? If the answer is yes, then this is a video you need to watch!
Janelle is an inspiring woman who craved a big change and a new adventure in life. A series of events lead to her making the decision to build an incredible tiny house, where she lives and also works form home as a naturopath.
Completely off-the-grid, this tiny house is set up with everything Janelle needs. She has a large deck out the front of her home which extends her living space and even has an ice bath!
The interior of the home is cleverly designed to be ultra functional and the space is nothing short of beautiful, with gorgeous warm timber throughout the space.
Her tiny home is parked up on an amazing biodynamic / permaculture farm. Here Janelle is surrounded by nature and her fantastic community.
We hope you enjoy the full tour of this special off-grid tiny house. To find out more about Janelle, you can visit her website here: www.seedsofhealth.com.au/

Hello Bryce, thank you for continually finding these very different tiny homes and spaces. I appreciate your representing not only the material aspects of tiny living but also asking questions about the psychological aspects and how they may have changed or affected the builders/owners. I think yours was one of the first channels I watched when I began exploring tiny homes years ago, and I'm still watching. I even bought your book! Thank you for your pioneering work!

Gosh, seeing all the timber on the walls was soooo refreshing! You forget how beautiful and warm timber looks after seeing so many Tinys with plain walls. I really love it! And her story of her life and search for community was so wonderful to hear. I laughed hard when Bryce said “if you build it things will come’! 😂😂😂

Oh that’s the truth about the warm timber! So beautiful. And yes, can relate to the “if you build it, things will come.” As an owner of a simple, modern home, we are always trying to simplify, donate things we don’t need and limit what we bring in. It’s a continual struggle.

I love this channel, but if the budget ever allows, I believe many of the viewers would benefit to see people living in tiny houses in different climates. In my circle (Northern Europe) this is one of the top tiny house youtube platforms in the western world, but we really do feel left out by seeing only people who live without real winters. Pure love, tho.

Janelle's insights and honesty was wonderful and the home she has built and the community she is part of leaves me full of happiness as this is what I see for myself if I can find a remote place with like minded community like this. Off grid tiny living, simple and connected and mutually supportive. Well done you all. So very beautiful.

Her home is not only gorgeous it's very cozy and inviting as well. If I ever built a tiny home I would have to have a large deck like her's that would allow you to use almost year round with only slight modifications depending upon where you live. I would definitely have screens to help prevent bugs from attacking me because I am the only one in my family who gets bitten .

lol. Don't be too envious. That tin box is going to cook her in the summer months. That long dark coloured wall faces north and has no eaves. She's going to be incredibly hot in there. Gympie also gets below 0 C a few times each year which will be very cold in that thing. She's built herself a prison.

It’s literally become a running joke with me and my friend who watches these with me. We turned it into a drinking game. “My friend invited me to live on the property…” drink! “My parents have some land…” drink! “I helped an old lady across the street and she was so thankful she gave me the deed to 27 acres of land!” Drink! After just a few tiny home videos you’ll be completely sauced! These are fun videos to watch but sadly I feel like it largely unobtainable for most people-even though it’s presented as this cheaper way to live. And It might well be in the long run but if you don’t have a large sum of money to begin with it’s out of reach.

@@janelletwine8807 I love your home and have put it in my "fave" playlist so I can readily find and share it with others. I was very curious about what you were cooking toward the end (the green leafy veggie that looked a bit like kale to me). You were also browning some almonds. Were they going to be added to the veggie? The idea of mixing those two things sounded so yummy to me. Like you, I like to cook - and garden! Anyhow, if you're willing to share I'd be grateful. This is a house that really inspires me. My husband and I are in the process of building an off-grid cottage (408 sq ft/38 m2), doing a "shed-to-house" conversion, in fact, and there are many good ideas here that we'll perhaps borrow, for the interior! I love the warm wood (rather like the "knotty pine" that we use here in North America). We are not hooked up to the grid at all and rely on water collection and/or a shallow well that we built, a compost toilet plus propane cooking and water heating, and wood heat in the winter. Not to forget the solar array!. We are currently living in our tiny-house-on-wheels (98 sq ft/9 m2) while building and that is also completely off-grid. The new cottage will feel palatial compared to our tiny house. 😀

As someone who bought the plans for my future tiny house specifically because it was entirely about the kitchen, which I fell in love with at first sight, I appreciate seeing others with big kitchens too. In addition to making homemade pasta and cooking though I absolutely love porches and hers was amazing so it’s definitely inspiration for how I want to build mine in the future, and I love how she incorporated her solar panels onto the roof of the porch, I’ve been wondering about what to do with mine and that’s a perfect solution!

I don’t like a bathroom through kitchen design in many tiny houses, what impressed me for this one is it follows the very same design but made it visually distinctive, probably for the very thoughtful colour choice - the warmth of timber and white blended so peacefully.

I like the solar collectors on the covered patio. The storage baskets are great.

I do not like to cook so I would have a minimal kitchen and more lounge space. Everyone has priorities and a kitchen isn't mine. I love the deck.
