I dunno tho, because the mushroom war happened during the Cold War which is what I presume given the fact that Simon sings the Cheers intro in Simon and Marcy meaning that this song would never have the chance to be released. :(

@@StupidSoup the hole's voice is actually Ashley Eriksson, who's the writer and lead singer of LAKE, who preformed several songs for AT including the outro, 'island song' (also known as 'christmas island' on their album). they also did BMO's favorite song in 'Shh' ('No Wonder I'), the song that played during the montage of finn's parents falling in love, and, of course, 'i look up to you' from later in this episode. it was my favorite band for a while because of AT and they're still on some of my playlists today, you should check them out :D

Why are people so malicious towards Mitski? Both versions are really good, there's no need to compare or say how sad it is that a cartoon character sings better than her. Both Olivia and Mitski are very talented, and I'm tired of seeing people putting one or the other down

I didn't know people were being "malicious." We might get a voice that's smoother or something through Marceline's voice actress but I wouldn't say that one is really better than the other. I like hearing it sung in Adventure Time for the voice itself, for the character singing it, as it just makes me wonder and think, and for the context in which it is sung. I like hearing Mitski sing it for all the same reasons: for the deep, sad voice, the person singing it, which makes me wonder even more since she has such a stress on lyrics because she seems to be a poet before an artist or singer or songwriter (which is fine), and for the context in which it's sung, the video I'm watching (like the acoustic one when she's just sittin' on the stool) and her life. ...I miss my girlfriend, okay? Lol, I think of her when I hear this. I want to do my best here but that won't matter as much to me once I get a chance to see her again and hopefully be with her again.

Malicious was probably the wrong word, I just meant that it makes me really upset seeing people trying to justify someone's talent by putting another person's down. I personally love both of their versions, but I'm a huge Mitski stan so I might be biased. Also, I'm really sorry about your girlfriend, and I hope that whatever happens you'll manage to find peace.

I loved both versions, but as a huge Mitski fan, I loved Mitski’s version and have for a long time🌟🌟🌟 They both have a different style! I just love the sound the sound of Mitski’s beautiful controlled and unique voice!

You know what would be great if they film Mitski, using some special effect, introducing Marceline in her cartoon form in a live action concert, singing a duet with each other, and rocking out in the process!
