Adventure Ocean Quest - Episode 3: Fragile Mediterranean | Ocean Documentary
Watch 'Adventure Ocean Quest - Episode 4' here: • Adventure Ocean Quest:...
The Mediterranean Sea is a world of impressive diversity where ocean sunfish and whales live side by side, and colourful corals provide a home for smaller creatures. But human beings have left their mark here for thousands of years: ancient shipwrecks and fighter planes from the Second World War litter the ocean floor, while until recently raw sewage was fed straight into the sea. The impact has been devastating - today the Mediterranean is an ecosystem on the edge. But there is a glimmer of hope as measures to protect the sea from pollution and excessive disturbance are being put into place.

Terrific episode! I was with you all the way. However, after having lived and dived in the Mediterranean on the southern coast of France, my heart is broken to see what has become of it since the 60's and 70's. Thank you for your work and making this information available to everyone. Now I can take a breath!

Very nice documentary and thank god and thanks to you that we are in good hands who believe that we can save the Mediterranean sea all together as one nation. I live in Malta and I can't understand such a beautiful ocean like the Mediterranean sea lived long way with disasters by wars that invaded the sea, over fishing and damaging the coral sea bed that it was once before.

300.000 french poluting the sea was irritating. I was angry enough to say, "It's the french. What else can you expect?!". But I am happy they made a difference.

Scuba diving isn’t the problem in and of itself. The problem is that there are too many people diving in environmentally sensitive areas. They wanted to show that free diving is a lot less invasive than scuba diving and allows you too see the area in a more natural state.

I really like this series but why are you bashing scuba divers so much? I would liked it more if this docu was about showing how great the ocean is not how good freedivers are in compare to scuba divers. I scuba dive myself and if you breath slow, you got your boyouncy right than there will not be alot of sediment coming up etc. When you jump in and there are 100 divers beneath you it is another thing ofcourse.

For what they want to do (ie see the marine life in as natural a state as possible) free diving is better. It sucks when you go to places with lots of other divers. The problem is that there are too many people diving in environmentally sensitive areas.
