Adventure: I made it to Cameroon’s Scariest Twin Lake of Manenguba.
The Twin Lakes of Muanenguba are a pair of crater lakes on Mount Muanenguba located in Bangem, Kupe Muanenguba subdivision in the South West Region of Cameroon.
Surrounded by rolling hills, lush vegetation and smoky skies, the area’s appealing sacredness is well talked about in the country and has gained a great deal of popularity with tourists.
The Twin Lakes hold a strong cultural significance for the indigenous Bakossi people:
The Kupe-Muanenguba Mountains harbor the greatest sacred places in the Bakossi tribe. It is here that the best herbs are found and it is also where sacrifices are performed.”
What is also remarkable about the twin lakes is that they are believed to present different energies - the Female Lake is sensed as more gentle and welcoming in energy, while the Male Lake presents a stronger foreboding vibe.
Because of this, the Female Lake seems more approachable, while the Male should preferably be left alone, locals would advise:
“The green lake is smaller, landlocked and no one dares descend into it except the traditional priests of the Mbo people to perform appeasement sacrifices. It is the Male. The larger blue is female where one can fish, swim and it flows out.”

Ma terre natal ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
Wild horses 😮
Nice trip. but next time pass through bangem because it is shorter and less stressful. That lake is found in the south west region and not in littoral. once in Bangem you just go up there by a motor bike or you go on foot. from bangem to the lake is 9km
Beautiful landscape. A brief history about the twin lakes and why it is so 'scary' would have been nice to know too.
Scary but very beautiful. Thanks for the video adventure.

Thank you for great content, I am so glad you went there. I have always been intrigued and awestruck by the views and you and your team did an awesome job bringing us those beautiful, serene views... Please try to do Lake Nyos if you can access it. The history behind the Lake Nyos disaster of the 80s is known worldwide and I am sure many will view your videos.

We did it in one day…was not easy. I’ll advice u camp up there and come back the next day.
Looks really cool. Changing the colors during editing kind of takes away from the beauty of the lakeS. I heard one is blueish and the other is green, but the editing make both lol brownish . Is the male male as dangerous (juju) lol , as they make it sound ? J’ai entendu que les choses pas très catholiques se passent dans le lac mal. 😬 bref, c’était beau. Mercii

Hahahaha there’s nothing dangerous about the male lake. Just not accessible as the female lake cos of the steep corners. Dats it. Nothing mystical there. Thanks for watching 🙏🏽

What's the situation in lake Nyos, after the deadly eruption on 21 August 1986?
@Outwithchimex
Жыл бұрын
Closely watched and very stable now.
Just like the guide told you, as you cross the star gate you enter the southwest. This twin lake is not a NKONGSAMBA LAKE, it is of the Bakossi people. They control that lake. You struggled to go to that lake because you passed through Nkongsambe. If you passed through Bangem, a car would've reached there.
