He's also completely different than any other anime swordfighter in Smash, moveset wise. No other character in the entire game plays like Sephiroth. He's an extremely worthy addition, regardless of how many other characters there already were of the same type.

@@ianchristian2844 People playing Kingdom Hearts 2 but that were not into Final Fantasy remember him ALL too well frankly. Guy is a legend, straight up. I had to grind to level 55 with more than 20 attempts in a row to beat him in KH2 on easy, like, fucken easy difficulty. In a game where there are no real stumbling points and where you can win first time at everything except perhaps the final boss, Seprioth somehow remains largely undefeated by people because he just....slaps.

This is the first and only track added to smash that came from a movie.

The first note played and the whole world screamed with varying degrees of hype and disbelief. I didn't even know very much about Sephiroth at all at the time of the reveal, all I knew is that he was from Final Fantasy, he's evil, he has a singular wing, and he's hot. That's literally it, and yet, I recognized exactly who it was from the first note because I've loved OWA for years.

When I play Sephiroth, that is my villain arc. Where I become the bad guy in the fight, and just pester and bully the opponent. It’s the only time I do it, but it is so satisfying being the villain sometimes

One of the more underrated things on my bucket list: play a version of this song in a church and see if anyone recognizes it. Wouldn't be the first time someone's tried this, but especially with my age group growing up, it could be interesting to see what happens.

4:17 is one of the best solos I’ve ever heard, shame it doesn’t last that long

3:15 still love they added this bit in. I never thought they could improve on the original but they did it twice at minimum(this and worlds greatest enemy are great)

Ikr. When Sephiroth was added, I freaked out, but when I calmed down, my immediate thought was "Welp, this deconfirms Sora. There isnt a snowball's chance in hell SquareEnix is giving us a FOURTH character." Then they actually gave us Sora.

Among my worst childhood memories was looking for the movie after I saw its trailers and YT clips later, and renting the wrong one after years of hype. I recall finding an FF dvd at a Video USA after months of searching, only to get home and find out it's the 2001 movie. On my 1st watch I kept thinking, "Sephiroth will pop up any moment ", I think I've never had a similar drop from joy to sadness as huge since. At the time: I'd never played any FF game prior and wasn't a into the genre; I wasn't aware it was a game franchise; lastly I thought there's only one FF movie.

That 0:55 mark is giving me Batman Beyond: Return of The Joker vibes and I am loving it.

I have waited for this moment. Now, I will give Smash despair. All shall be one with me.
