You pulled me in with jerkbaits, you stole my soul with spinnerbaits. Thank you, Mr. Randy!! I learned to fish from those who were kind enough to show me when I was a boy. Time on the water definitely refined and added to it, and now, the wonder of social media and your kindness is taking my thing on into the horizon. I will pass on to the young and hungry what I have.

The most important thing we can do as anglers is share our experience with fishing with as many others as we can. I will take anybody who is interested in learning.

Same way I am!! Most people hate on us south Louisiana men because we eat bass. What they don’t understand about it is we don’t have many big bass because we have WAY TOO MANY SMALL 12”-14” footballs that eat 365 on crawfish crabs shrimp Shad swamp minnows & marsh minnows and only get about 3-5 years old because hurricanes come in the marsh and kill EVERYTHING. And if we get a marsh bass that we catch that’s 2 1/2 lbs to 3lbs is like catching a 8lb’r in Texas on Rayburn or the TVA. And a 3 1/2lb -4lb is like a 10lb to 12lb somewhere else. This is something we need to teach these kids coming up fishing now is that you can kill a fishery by over population they eat the food out an eat all day & night. Where big bass will sit and whet for a big meal every other day or so. They will suck in some small things if it comes right to them and they don’t have to move but they would rather have a 5”-7” bream come into a 1’to 3’or4’ and HAMMER it not to burn the energy chasing small food. And that’s what these “SPORTSMAN” don’t know or understand. It’s not the sportsman but it’s the conservationists who can teach the right way to have quality and trophy fishing anywhere because you have to have the right habitat food & balance. An fish that can live together without hurting the growth food habitat and quality of the others spawning

I watched this episode when it came our Monday late morning out here in Northern California. Tied me up a 1/2 oz translucent silver and white spinnerbait with a gold and nickel willow leafs. Absolutely but the hurt on them this morning slow rolling rocky banks and drop offs. Adding the chartreuse zoom ring worm is no joke. Heat morning with my 12 y/o daughter that dropped Thors hammer on them from the back of the boat with a dark sleeper. Thank Randy for this channel and these awesome seminars! Looking forward to Mondays edition!

I like to add a boot tail swimbait and then cut the boot off. No vibration but you get the profile. Works very well for me with a bluegill/perch colored skirt and gold blades. I also make my own skirts and patterns. I don't do well with white/chartreuse or plain white spinnerbaits. Everyone else seems to big not me. My confidence is in perch patterns. I'm trying to incorporate more white/shad patterns.

I love using a spinnerbait! I pour my own based off of a War Eagle design. .032 R-bend super stainless wire and a hand tied custom skirt with various blade combinations. One of my favorite colors is a chartreuse and blue with a silver #3 Colorado and a #5 gold willow.

I'm off to fish my local club tournament, and I needed this video n knowledge. Thanks, Randy! My best spinnerbait this year has been a terminator 1/2 Oz white with 5 strands of pink and TWO strands of yellow! Trailer I run is a 2.8 keitech, missle baits spanking shad or a finesse work! Anyone ever use a finesse worm?

Such a great video , loved it , mine the heaviest I will go is 3/8 but I really like 1/4 oz for here cause it’s shallow , but in the winter time I will throw a 3/8 out deeper and I let it go to the bottom but also out in a lil deeper water , then slow roll and pull , slow roll and pull w the rod tip

The shows that are the best ,are different for all of us. I seek bass knowledge, about lures, and seasonal patterns, for florida. I live in okechobee, and all northern stuff is moot....as well as watching ,shows based up north.the shows are good, but dont apply to my fishing. So my favorites are geared for heavy cover ,shallow water, and deep cranking the Kissimmee river around scott driver park.

It's sad that today's "Professional" fisherman rely almost solely on FFS and very few know how to use the proper lures at the proper time and don't know diddly squat about reading water, temperature, structure or depth properly without their fancy equipment and apps on their phones. This is absolutely the most in-depth coverage on Spinner Bates I have ever seen and I completely agree on everything you stated here. I still fish Spinner baits and I just picked up a bunch more of them and I'm planning on entering tournaments again in 2024 using spinner baits more than I have been over the last 5 years because I've been killing it with them the last 4 months! Where I would disagree with you is chartreuse because it's been found that chartreuse registers to a fish as white anyway so anything with chartreuse appears as white to them. The other color I will whole heartedly disagree with you on is green pumpkin! IDK who started that whole thing but I am a Florida boy and I've fished these waters HARRRRD for almost 40 years and I can tell you that Green Pumpkin is useless in my experience! I have tried every shade of it on every type of lure, in varying conditions, and depths, different water clarity and temperatures and that color flat out SUCKS here in Florida. I have a bunch of worms in that color way that have been in my box for years because they simply don't produce and I try one out every once in a blue moon just to satisfy my curiosity when I question if maybe I'm mistaken, but every time, I am completely reassured that I shouldn't throw that color ever. I'll throw a worm or creature bait in that color way for literal hours and not a nibble and then I'll switch to a baby bass or a shad color way and immediately the bite is on, and then just to confirm, I'll put back a green pumpkin and NOTHING again. I think in 15+years I've caught all of 6 dinks on Green Pumpkin anything. The only use of it I find that works is as part of a skirt when imitating the Bluegill pattern. and the Z-Man SlingBladeZ Double Willow in Bluegill is incredible! Thanks for this excellent breakdown on Spinnerbaits!
