Thank you for your generosity in sharing your knowledge and experience about chess. Your videos teach me how to think strategically to increase the value of pieces when they work collectively. You make this world a smarter and more fun place. You are truly a gift to the chess community.

i really enjoyed this video. Although you say that this video is for players 2000 and up I think this topic is very relevent for me (fide 1800) as I recognise having positions like these where I can't put more pressure on the weak point I'm already targeting and must find a new plan and sometimes I'm struggeling with that. I recently discovered your channel and I'm really enjoying the content. You are an excellent teacher that can explain concepts well in an engaging way. Thank you very much.

Excellent video! I really struggle with plans like h5, h4, g5, g4 in positions like this. (Playing too conservatively comes with old age!) But it’s necessary to open up that 2nd front and give your opponent more chances to go wrong.

Thank you Irina, a really instructive and interesting video. I used to own your chess harmony series but lost it because my hard drive failed. Many of the examples on there were similar in style and interest to this video. Looking forward to the next one!

Wonderful analysis, very instructive. One small point, however, which relates to human versus computer evaluation. At 16:03 Irina says that the computer prefers hxg3 to her move Qf5. I think that might have been due to a limitation of the depth of the computer search. If you let Stockfish search deep enough -- say to depth 50 -- Stockfish decides that Irina's move Qf5 is actually best. The moves Qf5, hxg3, and Qh6 all, according to Stockfish, give Black a small advantage, although White can hold the draw until her subsequent move hxg4 (which, according to Stockfish, Irina punishes perfectly).

Very interesting and helpful. I've played many games where I'm pressuring a front to the max, but have no way of proceeding forth, especially in IQP positions

Enjoyed that game and your analysis very much, thank you Irina. And I agree on the g6 move, doesn't matter what justifications the engine has for giving away the h Pawn that's our Castle it needs walls.

Not only for advanced players! Players like me open second fronts all the time! It didn't work out according to plan on this front (opponent made a simple counter move I never thought of) so I will have to try on another front.

Hello mam! For quite some time, I have been fascinated with the game Kasparov vs. The World, where so many ideas and strategies came together to battle a genius. I know you had a big role in that game, and would love to hear about it from you. Thanks for all the effort, cheers!
