good footwork never gets old. I used to hate footwork drills a lot because they almost always left my calves and the arches of my feet very sore for a few days. Now I think footwork drills are the best! Not only do they make you quick on your feet, they are also some of the most applicable skills in sparring. And the light bouncing on the balls of your feet may very well be the best ankle conditioning exercise.

@DangerousDan2 you are totally right. I began in a very traditional, mostly hands-oriented martial art when I was 6. Switched to WTF TKD when I was 16. As you said, there is no contest as far as who can make contact first, with greater impact damage. Unless the TKD fighter is a clown from a bad school, it is an uphill battle for a hands-oriented fighter. If both are from the same quality schools, no contest.

@1bol1 Not death by one kick?! Are you serious? Paolothemaster wasn't wrong with that statement. If you guys ever get into World Class TKD sparring, you will know being hospitalized is only one kick away. Using this in the street under the right conditions is useful. BUT if you nail someone with a strong enough kick, you can break their arm, regardless if they block. All I can say is train hard. There is a difference between sparring and fighting. Use this mentality and your TKD will be deadly.

They're TKD they don't have any hand technics lol just kidding, but all kidding aside these guys are so quick and agile with their kicking techniques it would be hard for you to land a punch, Think about this way..your legs having a longer reach than your arms and your legs are more powerful too, and these dudes use their feet like we use our hands in a fight, so who do you think most likely to land more blows without getting hit??..
@paolothemaster15 жыл бұрын
there is a systematic approach in mixing martial arts otherwise, its not effective example -> taekwondo, its very vulnerable multiple punches,set punch, coz hands are down, and also take downs, although has defense on grappling but it is minimal compare to jujitsu

Ahmmm can u plz make a video how to use push kick?
JAJAJAJAJA FOR EVERYONE..... LEARN!!! a bit of spanish ( the video is in spanish ) then you can TRY to talk about it, this is only one chapter and its about how to move thats what the title "Los Desplazamientos" mean. thas why there are no punches here or other techniques. as you can see in the end of the video continues the next chapter "ESQUIVAS" (Dodge or dodging)
yes, some martial arts has similarities, taekwondo has straight punch, boxing has a straigh punch, but they differ on how they execute the punch, and has different ways of defending techniques effectiveness depends on different kind of fighters, there is a tall fighter, fat fighter, nervous fighter, short fighter, ackward fighter, mechanical and intelligent fighter
@TKDFlap i agree taekwondo has tons of hand techniques but studying not only taekwondo better :~)
like it :D
yea but it dosent mean you have to change the strikes inorder to mix them.
do not mess with someone who does any, I SAYD ANY, martial arts. if you did pick on someone with TKD for example, you got yourself one ticket to the hospital or pain.
or try to check my play list :~)
its good but old, could really work these days.
@Leroythtsme911 good job, brother congratulation.
This is a real good video but could do with an English translation!
why?? just so that it looks more like kick boxing?
I can maybe sprawl or I can try to escape the ground. there is no wright or wrong style, you just need to keep an open mind. also ive seen the ufc and I already know about yilmaz. non of that factors in the discussion
@paolothemaster not death by one kick
If you uploaded what we really do, it would be removed in a flash!
@TKDFlap Dude whether it is for competition or not. in the street, it doesn't matter. if somebody kick you with extreme power. you'll end up in a serious injury, broken ribs, KO or even death. Be practical dude, in fighting, doesn't matter you are wtf or itf or fundamental of tkd or any martial arts as long as you win the fight. watch fight science season 2
i still dont understand why theres no punches in taekwondo..

They're TKD they don't have any hand technics lol just kidding, but all kidding aside these guys are so quick and agile with their kicking techniques it would be hard for you to land a punch, Think about this way..your legs having a longer reach than your arms and your legs are more powerful too, and these dudes use their feet like we use our hands in a fight, so who do you think most likely to land more blows without getting hit??..
there is a systematic approach in mixing martial arts otherwise, its not effective example -> taekwondo, its very vulnerable multiple punches,set punch, coz hands are down, and also take downs, although has defense on grappling but it is minimal compare to jujitsu
