I think this is my favorite episode. Insane sights! I just moved back to Chile from the States, and I've been dying to take my motorcycle and ride in the patagonia. You guys have given tons of cool spots to check out.

Awesome!! Where in Chile are you? What kind of moto do you have? I really wish we had better footage from our time on the Carretera Austral. Once we head back down, if travel restrictions ease, revisiting Ruta 7 is at the top of our list!

Very well done guys. I´m preparing me and my bike for going to Chile & Argentina for three months starting in January 2025. I´ve been to a lot of places but South America will be a first timer. The challenge now is just to continue riding despite these never-ending travel restrictions and lockdowns. Beautiful trip! I like the camera view up on the pole above you two looking forward, nice perspective. I know a lot of work goes into videos. You two are living the dream. And cracking me up. Well done! With all that wind, riding the bike with a continuous lean got a little old, but nothing you can do about it. When an opposite direction big tractor trailer would go by, especially when raining, I would tuck & hope for the best. Fortunately, didn't have an issue. One guy in our group was blown off the road by a passing bus, fortunately he is an excellent rider, recovered & no issue.

Unfortunately back in 2019 an American motorcyclist it was blown off the road on Ruta 9, just south of Puerto Natales and lost his life. It's especially dangerous on that stretch of the highway towards Punta Arenas with the busses & big rigs... 😬

I dont even remember her name anymore.. but other things memmorable :-) Riding in Denmark is pretty boring for our kind of bike.. If you see a gravelroad there is a sign saying: No driving or PRIVAT !!! So we " Escape" to Sweden or Norway.. and thats a hole other ballgame !! But we got beautiful tarmac-roads and lots of pretty places .. And damm god beer !! :-)

You've dug back into some of the older episodes! The Chilean-side of TDF and Southern Patagonia is amazing. Much more remote than the Argentinian side... and the Africa Twin is the perfect bike for it! Thanks for watching! 🍻

One of the scariest feelings! Thinking you've lost your drone!!!! Happened in my last trip. Managed to bring it back with 1% left in the battery... When I managed to get it back the relief was unbelievable :-) What an amazing job you guys are doing... The views are awesome. Your videos are just getting better and better! Maybe one day, I'll be able to visit myself. In the mean time, through your videos, I feel like I'm already there. Can't wait till the next one.

Thank you for all the kind words! The videos are a lot of work, but we're having fun putting them together. Yeah, the Drone situation was a bit stressful. It just kept getting blowed further and further away, into the forest, before going into a forced landing. We realized if it landed in the trees, we would never find! Still can't believe that we did!

Great narration on Rose's part. sucks to be riding on cross wind specially on dirt when traction is minimal.

This is a wow wow wow journey you have documented here. Lisa is a very brave woman to accompany you on this two up....If we every get out of Peru we will use your video as a backup to our own plans....You used only maps and not GPS ? Will a garmin or iphone not work in that part of the world? Even with downloaded maps? Question two must you absolutely camp and eat camp food...No hostels, or hot food sources ? and my most important question is how do you charge the drone and GPS batteries? Special device to connect to the bike as you are traveling? We are also traveling and hitting the backroads but in Peru there are plenty of places to stay for the night just about everywhere...But primitive camping for a week is just awesome.. I will do this if they will just let me go...I also have a Honda African twin ...Sincerely Michael Jones...

Hi Michael. Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. For some reason I missed your comment... To answer your questions, I used Google Maps & Maps.me to plan my routes, but didn't take a GPS with me. There honestly aren't that many roads on the Island, so it's damn near impossible to get lost. No cell reception south of Porviner either... Restaurants and lodging are both pretty sparse outside of the cities. They do exist, but are primarily expensive estancia+style B+Bs... most of which are closed because of COVID. As far as charging, I installed a 12v accessory socket on my AT when I purchased it. I have a 12v adapter with 2 USB ports that I use to charge the drone, phone & GoPro batteries while we ride. Works like a charm! Thanks for following along on our journeys! C

Funny thing is, after the fact I was doing some research online for the video narration and I discovered that the beaver was an invasive species and they eradicated them. I guess that's why we couldn't find any...

Just got word that the Border up around Mendoza might be open. If so, might head back North along route to 7 and try to cross the Andes into Argentina!! 🤞

Plenty of Fish for sure, just got a lot of people out fishing where we ride. Patagonia is world famous for fly fishing, especially along the Carretera Austral!

@Germ and that's a good thing, 460 km seems like it would be forever to drive compared to 285 miles which us Americans know how to convert mph and distance into time in mere seconds in our head vs KM into distance and time. 60mph is a mile a minute, 120 mile drive is 2 hours simple. 60 mile drive at 30 mph is two hour drive easy peesy. I'm a truck driver and is iscso much easier. Now when it comes to tools like wrenches I'll take the metric system.

@@rickvann3489 I dunno 75 mph takes a bit of math. Who on 2 wheels goes 60? Grew up with imperial and now metric. It’s good to be bilingual. Base 100 kph instead of 60 mph makes range calculations simpler

@Germ not really just subtract 60 from 75 and you going roughly a mile in 45 seconds but really 48 seconds.
