When the safety gets loose on these adv pitboss button lock knives you can disassemble them and tighten a screw on the inside.

I have a few ADV's, awesome knives. Built like tanks. I like my Pit Boss II the best. He makes a more carry size of the same knife without the safety. The safety can be annoying, at first, but if you are really using your knife you will appreciate not having to worry about accidentally hitting the button and closing it on your fingers.

I have a pit boss 2 and I can tell you they pretty much have the same handle shape but the pit boss has a scale and liners while the alpha has inlays. The real standouts are when it comes to the blade. The pit boss has a compound grind (flat grind 1st half of the blade and hollow grind the 2nd half of the blade) but is generally the same length. The pit boss also has a fuller on the blade in addition to the opening hole Those are the only differences I know of
