ADUNGEIgi TONGJEI MAREEL LAMBEE
An account of a journey by foot by Lairenmayum Ibungohal Singh, first B.A. B.L. of Manipur in the month of May 1918 from Silchar to back home in Imphal, after appearing Matriculation Examination of Calcutta University at Govt. High-school, Silchar, through TONGJEI MAREEL LAMBEE (present day Old Cachar Road) where no vehicular transportation was available till the middle of the last 20th century AD.

NH 37 new Cachar road popularly known as imphal jiri road was open formally during October 1970 by a bus of Manipur State Transport shortly. Known as MST by a driver named pabung Bira of kangabam leikai with a lone passenger named Ch. Noyon Singh and took 2 days journey. However the bus service is not continued from the next day as road is not in a good condition. The regular service of bus is continued from last part of 1973 from Imphal to Nungba only. The MST bus service from Imphal to jiribam is continued regularly from the year 1974.the exact month is forgotten.
