    @Backlash1818 Mobile Gaming Channel there is a diffence between yelling aggressively and complimenting a woman. Simply hitting on a woman is diffrent than being super agrissive with it. Also the diffrence is if a guy comes at me with s3xual aggrision i can and will. Beat him to a pulp. I wont a women.

See if she would be as offended by women getting handsy and stuff as she would a couple guys saying she has a nice ass. At least we have 2 seasons to relish!

    Nobody is stopping Melissa Hunter from coming up with original characters and making videos about those characters. Nobody is stopping Melissa Hunter from continuing the "Adult Wednesday Addams" series and facing a lawsuit as a result. She chose to discontinue the project because a) she is smart b) defending herself in court would be a very expensive undertaking and c) she realizes that she would almost certainly lose because as a writer and producer she knew full well from the start that this was a blatant example of copyright infringement. "Entitled owners". You are a moron. Ownership is exactly what entitles you.

    It feels threatening to the people who are getting catcalled. It may not be harmful physically, but I can assure you it is terrifying having no idea if they are going to chase you and try to touch you. And please. Pretty much all catcalls are pervert comments. @T. G.

  • @aditee

    @aditee

    @T. G. see, that's where you fall wrong. Catcalling inherently means that someone is crudely and whistling at you with disapproval and has evolved to include the disgusting and perverted things people usually say to strangers. What you said is good catcalling is simply just complimenting. If you go ahead and with good intentions say something good to someone, even a stranger it's called complimenting. All catcalling is bad catcalling and harassment.

    @Michael Just because we men are held to account when we say sexist, vulgar things to women, the place must be a Nazi regime? That's some strange "logic". Personally, I have never cat-called anyone. I find it disrespectful and associate it with men who are, in general, insecure in their masculinity. But maybe that's why I am happily married to a wonderful wife of 15 years, whom I treat as my equal partner.

  • @a.n.d0163

    @a.n.d0163

    4 жыл бұрын

    @Michael The vulgarity of it all is uncomfortable. I mean I'm barely a teenager and I've had several men, quite literal when I mean "men" (late 20s and up) catcall me from the other side of the street and even trying to get me to reveal private information about myself. So yes catcalling does affect people and can potentially harm. To see you speak about it so ignorantly kind of lets me down. To you it can be I'm "complimenting you", but technically harassment is unwanted and inappropriate verbal and/or physical conduct. And what I went through is definitely unwanted. There's difference between complimenting a person and making a remark towards a person based off the sexual nature. Like you catcalling situations can escalate very quickly.

    Yes, a real shame. This episode was going off the charts when it was launched, and as a small contributor to her crowd funding of this series, I was super excited for her success with this series, and then the corporate lawyer types got involved on behalf of the Addams Foundation, and screwed it all up. Not that the Foundation has done much with "The Addams Family" property lately.

    No, it was more than she was using their "Intellectual Property" without permission and making money in the process. Personally I would have liked to have seen them offer her a flexible licence arrangement to see just how far she could take it. Like you say it could have become a very successful show on Comedy Central, and they could have made money from it, but once lawyers get involved creativity dies.

    What?? arent Addams old enough to be public domain?

  • @markfryer9880

    @markfryer9880

    7 жыл бұрын

    It all comes down to copyright/intellectual property rights in this case primarily in the USA, and when they were last exercised in relation to potential expiry dates. In the case of the original Addams Family cartoons which appeared in US newspapers, they would most probably be public domain by now, however the Addams Family TV show would have refreshed that original copyright, and then the two movies would have refreshed the copyright again in addition to those TV episodes and movies starting their own copyright protection period. This is why every TV show or movie lists the year of release in the credits and if the work is something like the Addams Family it would say "Based on the works of Charles Addams" to provide extended protection to those said works. The Addams Foundation will have lawyers advising them as to just how to keep their little money spinner properly protected and it is for this reason that they went after Melissa Hunter and her Adult Wednesday Addams here on You Tube. Disclaimer; I am no lawyer nor a specialist copyright/intellectual property lawyer, this is just my understanding of how copyright and intellectual property law works.
