I find their habits can sometimes relate to human habits. Watching the late portion of this video, I'm reminded first of someone telling me to try to keep up and not being able (3:04 mark), while they wait for me, then there is the tiredness of trying to keep up with your crush (3:15 mark), and finally trying to keep your interest, the other person does a dazzling display, or something out of the ordinary (3:32 mark). People always say animals are not the same as humans, that they go off of instinct. I can understand that, but only because as humans we have so much provided for us. We can go to a store to buy food, and a fountain to get water, and even try to get laid. We are however limited by the tools and the environment around us. Were we not to have these resources how do you think we would react? Certainly with a bit of compassion (for some) just as other communities of animals do. For these polar bears, there isn't much around, and certainly, if you're trying to impress the one guy or girl in a bar, etc., you're going to do whatever you can with the setting around you. Don't tell me you wouldn't; even a simple glance of the eyes can make all the difference. These things make me think that indeed animals are just the same as us, we just simply are not as aware of it, because we can't notice it. I'm no PETA supporter, nor am I an advocate for animals, but I think everyone can agree we should be looking out for our fellow biosphere inhabitants.

The one bear needs to find a rabbit or something! Great editing on the eye movements, really conveyed the emotion of the narrative ;-)

she was testing if his genes were going to be good for her cubs. he was actively looking for a mate and the male leaves soon enough so she didn't have to prove anything to him. also male bears leave the female when she is pregnant so YEAH she had to see if he was actually worth her time

A girl once made me chase her all the way around Stanley Park in Vancouver for an entire afternoon (it's like 10 km!). Then we sat on a bench and read together. Yes, READ, books. That was the last time I tried that stupid game.
