Yellow shoes guy didn’t make red shirt guy move anywhere close to enough. He barely moved red shirt to the net and played a fast attacking came and never realized red shirt stayed on his heels the whole time. By the 2nd half of the 2nd game, red shirt’s base was just in front of the doubles service line because he knew yellow shoes was just clearing, lifting, smashing, and fast-dropping a bit. Everything on yellow shoes backhand was a straight fast-clear. Yellow shoes is fast and powerful but he made it so easy for red shirt to win simply by making him have to play only 3/4 of the court 95% of the time. Yellow shoes moves backwards and attacks very well, but every net shot is a high risk spin/tumble drop. He’s gotta learn to just block more consistently and use his speed and power to attack. LCW, Axelsen, and Ginting are masters of this. Yellow shoes could have won this match with a better game plan.

Agreed. Yellow shoes guy could have smashes harder and run faster. He would have won. Oh well.
