I just found this video, and i know its older.. but i want to say what a beautiful heartwarming tribute you did for your baby. I felt your broken heart when you spoke. I too know that feeling. My pets have aways been my babies, my family. What a wonderful soul you are… your tribute is amazing… until you hold her again 🙏🏼

Lovely to see all your various colourings in Maria Trolle books over the years, and how your style has changed. They are all beautiful, even your more muted early pictures. You worked those cheaper pencil brands to their limits! As for being emotional over your sweet bird, you most have bonded so securely to it, to affect you so. Don't apologise, you loved your pet sincerely, no one should belittle your feelings.

Thank you Jude ! Yes Yenneke and I (and Erwin) were really a flock. We were hers en she was one of ours. She gave kisses, could sleep on our tummy if we were lying in the couch... She had and has a special place in my heart and she always will have. I have the feeling that I'm carrying a part of her in me. ❤️

I love the fact Maria trolle books have the black backgrounds for some of the drawings! You did a beautiful job and you may not enjoy much of coloring leaves and flowers but you do a very good job with them

Very nice pages. I’m so sorry about your little bird. We.had to send our Cockatoo after 28 years to the rainbow bridge ten years ago and it still makes me cry. Birds are very special pets. Thank you

Thank you. I can feel your pain so well... Cockatoos are such sweetiepies ! I am a huge animal lover but birds have a very special place in my heart 💕 Our Yenneke was only five when she got ill and she passed a week later 😢. She will always have a home in my heart , just as your cockatoo has one in yours. Big hug !

They are beautiful. I most appreciate it that you honestly show us whatever you coloured, good ones and the ones you are not very happy with. Really appreciate it👍. Wow, I love so many of your pages! I’m also not the best at leaves and flowers. But those pictures were beautiful! Really love your work here in these books so sorry about your bird we too had to do the same with one of our dogs which we had before its always heart breaking even though im not an animal person i still was quite sad about it so i know how it feels things get better over time .❤💜

I like all the different techniques you tried. Have you ever used a treatment on the page to prevent bleed through? If so what is your preferred product?

I have tried Gesso and that's nice when you are working with watercolor for backgrounds but when you have put it above a face or an object you want to color in it's quite 'sandy' and it's not nice to work with pencils on top (personal feeling)

I was looking forward to this video. Lady, you are very humble, because all your artistic work is wonderful. And your videos are sometimes very funny because you are naturally cute. 🥰🥰🥰 I must mention that I started to love Hannah Lynn's illustrations, because you make them so beautiful🤩🤩 Can you show us in more detail how to use colored pencils on the base of the marker, please! Thank you soooo much!

Are these books only for pensils or can it also be used with watercolor and pastelpensils?

You can use watercolor in these books, although the paper isn't made for it. Pastel pencils I don't own myself but I do think they work on most type of papers

What pens/marker did you use for the metallics?

I use metallic paints most of the time, sometimes brandless and sometimes kuretake. Glitter gellpens can also be brandless or the pentel sparkle pop ones

What did you use for the glossy effect on the leaves? And is stickles a brand name?

It's called 'glossy accents' and the glitter is indeed called stickles. The producer is Ranger. You should be able to find both on Amazon 😊

Hi, I just started my first Maria Trolle page from Flora. i watched your video for some ideas and inspiration. I like how you so honestly critique your work . I agreed with you on every page you showed. I'm sorry to hear about your bird. I too am a bird owner and have a 19 year old cockatiel. What kind of bird was your sweet baby? The picture brought sadness to me too and I could totally understand the feelings you had when you coloured that page. On a different note, I would really like to know what type of metallic paint you used and does it go through to the other side of the page? I would also like to know what brush you use to paint the black acrylic background, what paint you used and how to avoid streaking or does it go on evenly? Does Acrylic paint ever seep through the page? I do a lot of paint by number with acrylic paint that comes with the kit and it is on a cloth canvas. This is the first time that I have tuned into your channel. I have saved this video so I can refer back to it. Thank you again for producing and sharing these helpful videos!

Hi Karin ! Thank you for your message ! My Yenneke was a Fife fancy canary bird (but in her own mind she was as human as we are, she was unbelievable). Acrylic Paint doesn't bleed through but it can be tricky near the edges, if you are not carefull it can smudge the backside of the paper. I don't use special brushes, all the ones i have are pretty cheap 🤭 About the metallic paints : same story. I have a lot of cheap ones, the only more expensive ones are the Paul Rubens brand. I've never experienced bleed through with them. Hope that helps 😊

@@karinswartz3046 I have some Paul Rubens metallic paints but I also have a bunch of brandless ones (from my favourite discounter for example) and so I use which ever I like or which one has the right color at that moment You van definitely get good results with a cheap brand too 🙂

Oh I use different mediums : regular pencils, watercolor ones, paints,... The paper in these books (especially the MUS ones have amazing paper)

@@desireeh1967 which one do you mean ? The MUS publications are the Dutch ones. I think the English ones are okay but the paper in the MUS editions is even thicker. Amazon and definitely bol.com sell them 😊
