Total abstinence is the ONLY way to guarantee that you will never get drunk and that you'll never have a problem with alcohol.

When exactly is an individual Christian officially drunk? How many ounces of alcohol before one crosses that line? What blood alcohol concentration makes a person officially chemically drunk? .02? .05? .08? Until we can find that exact official chemical measurement, we can not say consuming alcohol as a Christian is acceptable to Jesus. It is better that all of us Christians promote, support, teach and practice abstinence from all mind altering chemicals, alcohol being the most harmful. Praise Jesus

if one choose to drink or not is debatable, however A.Rogers has dealt with far too many folk who have ruined their life, health, etc.so I believe he is commenting on all the sad cases he has dealt with....in the end,it's up to each person to decide.

Yes evernan is to be pursuaded in his own mind . Whatver is not of faith is sin . We all have sin and fall short of glory of God . If you don’t do this or struggle with this it will be something eise and if you’re saved the just like any other sin it it’s already forgiven and what’s has been done in flesh / service will be burned up at judgement of Christ

he was wrong there. Alcohol itself is not the sin, but drunkness. Otherwise caffeine must be a sin too

No, YOU are just trying to justify your right to drink. No alcohol, no drunkeness. You don't take the first sip, you'll never run the risk of drunkeness.

i think Romans 14:21 is refering to if your frriend or family member is a vegan or an ex alcoholic to not eat meat or drink in front of them least they be tempted . but this is pual speaking it is not GOD. 1) there's not a prohibition on alchol, it is not stated thou shall not drink alcohol, bit it does warn us about it. 2) and eating meat is ok as far as i am concered

this demonstrates that rogers doesn't know his greek. paul here uses the aorist infinitive, meaning that this is a one time thing, does rogers eat meat if he is with a vegetarian? does he still have sex, since it can be abused? does he drive a car? auto accidents kill millions every year.

nunya bidness Mr. or Ms. Nunya Bidness: I apologize for being so direct, but your own understanding of Greek also seems to be somewhat limited. The aorist (whether in Ancient, Classical, Hellenistic-Koine, or even modern Demotic Greek), is the “run-of-the-mill,” “undefined” tense. While it expresses a “point action” aksiosart, the use of the aorist (infinitive or otherwise) cannot be used to dogmatically establish “single occurrance of action,” “finality of results,” or any of the widespread misconceptions, so common among Christians who show an interest in Greek, or (sad to say) purport to have a working knowledge of the language. Please consider these words, and feel free to offer constructive conversation back in return. Thank you. God bless, Norm Young Sr.

I don’t care about your “stumbling.” Your “stumbling” or your being “offended” is YOUR. PROBLEM. Not mine. I don’t give a damn what Paul or Adrian Rogers or any other authority you can name said. The one with scruples should not be deferred to. The person with scruples should get over themselves. And the slippery slope argument Rogers is making is just insulting.
