Adorable moment friendly fox cozies up to man in pub | SWNS TV

Ойын-сауық

This is the adorable moment a friendly fox cozies up to a man in a pub beer garden and begs to be stroked.
Animal lover Gary Sines couldn’t believe his luck when Britain’s friendliest fox sat on his lap while he was having a pint at the pub.
The 40-year-old builder was relaxing in the beer garden at The Star pub, in Malden Rushett, London, when the fox jumped onto his chair and cuddled up to him.
He was with his partner, Lindsay Rolfe, on Friday evening (August 2), when the incredible encounter took place.

I was turning into a street in my car and had to stop as a fox was in the road. It came up to my car and was smelling it. I opened the door to check if the fox was okay and it jumped up into my lap!!! I drove round to my friends with it still on my lap and called the local animal rescue to come check and make sure it was okay. They said they couldn’t find anything wrong with it and figured it may have been raised by people from birth and maybe released back into the wild!! Best day of my life, apart from the day Harvey the Lar Gibbon gave me a hug when I was cleaning his cage out at Colchester Zoo. That was pretty neat as well!!

Foxes are every bit as loving, playful and emotionally rich companions as cats and dogs, but they have quirks that make them difficult pets for domestic life. For one they love to pee on anything and everything all the time and can rarely be litter box trained, for two they love digging to make their dens and so can tear up a home, for three they need plenty of space to roam and play. There's a great fox rescue KZread channel SaveAFox for people who want to see how loving, friendly and playful foxes can be in a happy home environment.

That baby looks like it was scared of something and came to another animal for comfort. Prolly lost its mama. I hope the pub can make sure it stays safe and happy.

@James Cricket I don't think it's utter drivel. They pick up on cues. It is evolutionary. For instance an animal had to be good at sensing fear in another animal and knowing whether the animal wanted to do it harm, the ones better at doing that were more likely to survive, and were then able to pass on the trait and build it into the instinct of future generations, so it's probably an extension of that evolutionary process. Because dogs for instance will always tend to favour those who are actually dog lovers, they seem to sense it. Again it's nothing mystical, it's probably subtle cues we don't pick up on. I do however wonder if this fox is domesticated. Wild foxes just do not behave this way. They are seriously timid and shy. I'm guessing that is another trait they have needed to adopt for survival.

Many years ago while out for a walk with my son, in his stroller, a fox joined us and ran along side in the ditch and then followed us home. This was in northern Canada where my parents had a cabin. The fox hung around and became quite comfortable with my Dad even eating out of his hand. Dad's gone now, he had such a way with wild animals, even some birds would eat out of his hand. I cherish the memory of his gentle spirit.
