Adorable BABY GORILLA 😍 .Two baby gorillas 💕in London Zoo.

These adorable babies 😍💕 are just learning to walk, but soon they will be playing together.
Mom in the front is Effie, behind her is Mjukuu. Mjukuu seems to be more loving and caring 💕. I hope that Effie is just a bit out of shape today. 😢

Wow that is the first time I've ever seen a gorilla mother put her baby on the ground for such a long period of time and not engage. Gorilla babies are usually on their mothers constantly for the first 8 months until they start learning to walk. The baby went toward her and she just pushed it away. Maybe the mother is having postpartum depression. 😢

She is protecting her baby and feeding it. Maybe she has an underlying health condition either mentally or physically, or she herself did not have a good mother. Just like people gorillas learn from each other in the same ways as we do. It isn't just instinct like many other animals. I noticed in another video when the other female sat beside her in what appeared to be a friendly gesture, rather than a dominance one - hard to tell - she rejected her advances. I watched Bagira with Nafi and it is a miracle Nafi survived with big brothers rough housing her and no protection. She learned to always be near her mother and walk underneath her to avoid them. Her mother was constantly putting her knuckles on her and pushing her to the ground to get away from her, but she fed her and she survived. Thank you for the great videos!

Effie did not have a good mother or possibly her mother did not know how to care for babies.. Her mother Salome did not raise any of her kids, they were all hand reared. This may be a big part of the problem. Her older half-brother Gino is at Disney Animal Kingdom and his mate Azizi struggled with knowing how to care for her babies, she was hand reared too. Azizi and others with this problem have managed and Effie seems like she is trying.

@@lm9991 I think Effie raised her son Gernot, but I have never seen any videos of her with him, only photos. I agree about her possibly feeling out of place. Tusa at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo was hand reared and seems to isolate herself. I guess that's why zoos try to get babies back with gorillas as young as possible.

The mother is just teaching the baby to roll over and start pushing up. Gorilla mother’s are smart enough to know there’s no danger at the area of their enclose. Just as Orangutans will have more babies closure together in zoo’s or aquarium’s than in the wild because of the security and they get plenty of food. Go try to take her baby and you seen her pull baby back as soon as another gorilla got to close. Also as soon as other baby finished nursing it’s mother put her/him down to also work on their motor skills. I’m sorry you darling gorilla mom’s that so many human’s say such foolish thing’s because they understand the topic.
