worked for me... but i am interested in the one where it showed that you had to choose one of the status options. your submittal stamp is really useful in document review process in addition to digital signatures.

Hello! Great and helpful vid!! I do not have the ideal jargon, as I am not a programmer but like to try and learn when in need. I am currently working with a custom dynamic stamp that has 3 fields. The first 2 fields prompt the user to enter text that will show on the stamp (the script for these 2 prompts are currently working fine). The third field is an empty field that requests for a signature. I already tried adding the "Digital Signature" field from the "Prepare Form" menu. It works when the stamp is opened by itself. However, when I stamp the documents, and click on the field the signature process doesn't start. I’ve been told that I have to develop a script for the field (calculated), that when the doc gets stamped, the signature field becomes active (like the sign tab) so that the user clicks on the signature field and the stamp starts the signing process. Currently, I am stamping the docs and then sign the stamp using the "Certificate" tool and then digitally sign by dragging the square where I want the signature. I’ve been on this for a long time researching and trying w/o success. Can you please help me with the script I need or suggest if there's any better/easier way to solve my problem? BTW, I am using Acrobat DC.

Doesn't there exist a simple PDF stamp program for mac to add a sequential numbering to a multi page document where you can manually select the pages on which you need to put a number?

I was able to run the java script to determine where the file location is, but that folder doesn't appear when I follow the path or search within windows explorer on my computer

I got it to work!! It's too bad you can't put the javascript somewhere we can just copy and paste. That would have made it much easier. Somewhere on the internet it would be good to have a listing of javascript for different templates for stamps!! BTW, your instructions were perfect.

I'm trying to replicate this with out shelling out to Adobe, and there are some other that are able to create the stamp with Javascript code, but the identification/modification of the template was beyond me. What actually happened there? And can I find out what the current id's are so that I don't have to create new template (since that also forces me to buy DC Pro...)

You should add the Javascript code in the description since it is hard to read the script with minute font.

Hello. Has anyone been able to get this fillable stamp to work?

This is a great tutorial. I was able to create a submittal review stamp for my husband, but I can't seem to find a good video on how to create the select/check boxes for the Approved/Reviewed/Rejected/Revised. Has anyone seen a good tutorial on that? After spending the time to create the stamp this far, I really don't want to pay a company to make the dang thing:)

In the PREPARE FORM tool tray, you should be able to select the 'Add Check Boxes' icon and drop them where you need them. Be sure to rename them all different or else they'll all select together.

Does it work on acrobat standard dc?

Any suggestions for inputting the tallies on the boxes? I coincidentally am working on a submittal stamp with very similair layout.

The latest version of Acrobat DC only allows you to open pdf's. No options to open up a png

Acrobat Reader DC or Acrobat Pro DC? Pro has dropdown with lots of file types including png.

I have a problem: when the question for the text appears and I enter it and click OK, it does not appear in the text field. It stays empty. What went wrong?

to people having the same issue: i fixed my problem. the cause was using the code that this video typed in but you should use the code that is written in the tutorial (linked in description). there are 2 lines missing. if you don't want the date like alpehzero here, delete this line but don't delete the last two.

What if we dont have windows explorer?

Look up the app.execDialog function in the Adobe javascript reference.

Look up how to make templates, once you have a template customized for you, you can get to making soft quickly

is it possible to make a stamp, with fields where I could enter some words? or as a form - text where I could enter it after setting Stamp. Can I have your email so I can send you a picture of what it would look like

The script seems to work as I am able to enter the name from the cAsk line of code but for some reason it is not displaying in the textbox. What could the reason be? Are you able to assist?

My best guess is that you might have an error in your code. Double check what you typed and make sure it exactly matches with what's in the video. Hopefully that fixes the problem!

i am having the same issue. i have the exact code you are using because all i want is the current date (i abandoned the whole time thing). created the stamp yesterday. went to use the stamp today and i'm getting yesterday's date.

James -- not sure if you got any help with this, but I finally figured out what I needed to do to get the date to capture the current date and use it within the text field. I didn't need anything else about my stamp to be dynamic, so my Custom calculation script needed to do the work of only getting the date when the stamp is "laid down" as Aleph says. That logic now looks like this: if(event.source.forReal && (event.source.stampName == "#Stamp1")) { event.value=util.printd("mm/dd/yyyy", new Date()); } Hope that makes sense. It's working fabulously for me now.

Pause the video that shows the date. That line of code needs to moved down between the curly braces { }

Nice job... I haven't yet replicated the results... but I think I'll be able to follow along and make it work. You MAY have gone a tad fast for some people, but not me personally - that's what "pause" and "rewind" are for, right?

Thanks! Yeah I agree that the video ended up being a little fast. I recently added in captions so the process of pausing and rewinding will be more helpful too.

I have created dynamic stamps in an earlier version of Adobe. I was able to add a seal, that being a graphic, as a separate part of the seal A two page document- One was the image, the other was text. Is that not an option in Adobe Acrobat Pro 2017?

Great Video. When I use the stamp in a document, Comments appear. I don't want the user to add comments. How do I get rid of this?

This is very helpful, however I too, have not been able to duplicate the results. I note in the version of Acrobat that I'm running, "Acrobat Pro DC" that there is only a single file in the user folder that contains all the stamps... or I should say, most of my stamps... however that's not the issue here. It there a way that the stamp can be placed on the page without the extra approval step? I find the dynamic stamps that come with Acrobat very useful as I'm the only one using this computer. So, I'm trying to achieve the same effect each time I place a stamp, my name and date appear? Again, very helpful. I'll persevere until it's working ;-)

Actually, I just tried searching the Acrobat files for their version of dynamic code and found the following... event.value = (new Date()).toString(); AFDate_FormatEx("h:MM tt, mmm dd, yyyy"); event.value = "By " + ((!identity.name || identity.loginName != (event.source.source || this).Collab.user) ? (event.source.source || this).Collab.user : identity.name) + " at " + event.value; I tried entering it in the custom field, saving (over top of the original file) and it works like charm. No need to remove and add the template file as in your instructions. Very helpful tutorial.

For all the stamps being saved in one file, if you create a new category when you create the stamp it will generate a new file with just that one stamp, or that worked for me at least i'm pretty new to adobe
