Lets also take nothing away from Kate Mulgrew (elsewhere in the episode) doing a pretty good Brett Gray too :P

I like how when Holo-Janeway first meets Admiral Janeway, she sounds so happy to see her, almost like a child seeing their parent.

@@HikingFeral that's not as much of a flex as you think it is. There are plenty of us who have watched every episode of every iteration of Star Trek many times. If you don't like Prodigy, that's fine it's not for everyone. But don't think that the number of times you've watched various episodes of Star Trek gives you any special status or authority on the matter 🤦‍♂️

"Admiral Ja-- I mean, admir-Dal..." LOL. I haven't seen any of this show yet, but I can appreciate that kind of writing. It's a wonder characters didn't verbally trip up more often when dealing with all the complicated situations that would come up in the 20th-century shows (but I guess it was usually trained Star Fleet officers compared to young aliens in this case.)

Pretending that computer programs have feelings is very harmful for the emotional development of kids.

They do though in that century, look at Data, look at the Doctor. They are as much an intelligent life form as any other, they may not be flesh and blood, but they have those emotions. Whilst I do think I geg you're reffering to making kids today think that computer programs can have emotions like that, but at least guve kids credit, they aren't dumb enough to not realise the difference between a walking talking hologram on a space ship with aliens and a modern computer screen. We have nothing even remotely like them, so I doubt it will have that much of an effect on kids, there are far more worse things to worry about media drilling into children today than that
