I think one of my favorite modern episodes that wasn't on the list is that Tiki episode, where Spongebob and Patrick feel bad about annoying Squidward and build a paradise for him. It was actually really pleasant to see them with a sense of morality.

I feel like Grandma Kisses is an underhated episode. Almost everyone in the Krusty Krab is being mean to Spongebob for having a kiss mark on his forehead. Patrick is being a jerk to Spongebob. A terrible message to kids "Being a grown-up is boring and miserable". And the ending was just mean-spirited.....But if i had to give any positives to the episode is that the humor was good and I loved the voice acting for Spongebob's Grandma.

To the people who hate post-Spongebob: Spongebob isn't good as it used to be. Yes we get it, but saying every episode from post-Spongebob is horrible lie.

Yoshi Playa post movie Spongebob is not as good as pre movie but some episodes are still good.

The reason Mermaid man and Barnacle boy don't appear in the newest seasons is because..... well... the voice actor for mermaid man died. Yeah, I know it's hard to belive, but it's true. I forgot when he was born, but it was somewhere around 1900 to the 1930's.

I really hope Jim returns someday How "Spongebob You're Fired" could have ended: Spongebob goes to a restaurant to find a job where he meets Jim. Jim takes him under his wing and teaches him how to cook. Mr. Krabs realizes how much Spongebob means to him, as an employee but also as a bit of a grandson figure, and wants him back, and even offers to pay him extra to make up for his mistake. Spongebob doesn't know what he should do, but Jim tells him he should follow his heart, so Spongebob goes back to the Krusty Krab, taking with him all the lessons he learned from Jim.

Out of all Admirable animations, this is one of the most needed ones made. Most people give up on Spongebob eventually, I don't remember all of these episodes but Friend or Foe for the most part. After seeing this I do want to see spongebob again, especially season 9. The fact that every screwup episode fails in a unique way actually shows spongebob's potential, I can't wait for the upcoming movie.

"Did you guys know that Spongebob Squarepants is, and I'm going to give you a moment to let this bombshell sink in, but Spongebob Squarepants is, in fact, a Sponge?" WHAT?! I thought he was a tampon.

Honestly, I wasn't able to like "the abrasive side " just because the moral. Spongebob was getting constantly pushed around by everybody and he wanted to change himself so he could say no. Then when he goes to Sandy and explains his situation, she says that he shouldn't have to change himself, even though she was one of the people who was taking advantage of Spongebob.

I found the episode, "Treats," very relatable. I myself have a cat at home, and she just so happens to eat treats like a garbage disposal, and meows for treats a lot, and she's my pride and joy in life, and I can rarely say no to her.

It's a real shame that the writers of this show can be so inconsistent. They're capable of creating something beautiful, but it seems they're incapable of remembering *what* made them beautiful in the first place. These episodes should be seen by anyone who thinks that the entire modern era is bad, as that's simply not the case, and anyone who thinks otherwise seems extremely close minded.

Fun fact: The warden in "Inmates of Summer" was voiced by the drill sergeant from Full Metal Jacket.

With all honesty, I think modern Spongebob is *terribly overhated*. Sure, I won't deny the downhill in it. But people generalize it too much that they automatically think that if it's new Spongebob, it will be an absolute scumbob episode. It's pretty silly to think of it that. I admit, this video really cheered me up. I tend to think of Season 5 as having been the last pretty good season of Spongebob, but I'm realizing now that I was just remembering all the bad episodes and wasn't even thinking of most of the ones on this list. Honestly, the only one on this list that I'm not personally a fan of is The Hot Shot. Most of these aren't just watchable, but legitimately enjoyable.

This has probably already been suggested, but I'd like to hear the inverse argument as well. Maybe like a Top 20 WORST classic episodes? I love Spongebob as much as you, but not every single episode pre-movie was pure gold, and I'd like to hear your opinion on it.

Okay, the fart jokes in number one were pretty funny. These were the better episodes, I agree.

I'm surprised Enchanted Tiki Dreams didn't make it on the list, but I am happy that Jellyfish Planet made it onto the list. It has to be my fave Modern Spongebob episode because they reference something without pushing it out too far. Also, mayonnaise IS an instrument. An instrument for destroying evil aliens! :D

I need more of these Admirable Animation SpongeBob episodes because seeing all the Animated Atrocities for this show just makes me depressed as to how far down the drain it has gone

I ask the question because: 1) He seems to be more serious than funny sometimes. 2) When I watch his reviews for the fifth time, I think about it and say "This is really humorous," like A.A. #15:Face Freeze. 3) He is unfathomable and mysterious so you never know if he will be funny or be serious. And if you think so, then explain why is you if needed.

That was fun to watch, mainly because of how far Krabs took it, it was actually funny

Whenever Modern Spongebob gets an episode that's really great, I get frustrated. Why? Because I know these writers can make something that's just as good as the pre-movie days. I need to see a few of these like Plankton's Pet, because it shows that Spongebob still has good episodes under its belt, you just have to dig for the diamonds in the rough.

Seeing that you’ve made a list this long brings back a little hope and joy.

Plankton trying to steal the formula is an over done plot but I as big as Phineas and Ferb's plot. True, we get new inventions in every episode. great songs and celebrity appearances but man oh man the plot is the same every single time. Kids build machine, Daughter tries to bust them but fails, Perry fights evil-ish scientist and succeeds. On another note, glad to see their are some good spongebob episodes. Let's just hope the next movie is good and season 10 as well.

Don't ever expect an Admirable Animation on The Lion King. He said that he only reviews underrated animation and The Lion King isn't underrated at all. He said he'd review The Hunchback of Notre Dame in a Q&A video but that was back in October. I don't know if he considers that underrated enough.

*Best* S1: Texas - Funny, clever, and very heartwarming. S2: Band Geeks - Has some of the most memorable moments and hilarious jokes in the whole show. S3: Either Idiot Box or Chocolate with Nuts - Both episodes' jokes hit perfect bulls-eyes. S4: Skill Crane - The facial expressions of Squidward were perfect in this episode. S5: Spy Buddies - Spongebob and Patrick play off of the spy story perfectly. S6: Sand Castles in the Sand - Mr. Enter says it all. S7: Bad Guy Club for Villains - Great parody of classic superhero shows. S8: It's a Spongebob Christmas - Perfect homage to classic Rankin Bass specials, and has great humor. S9: Plankton's Pet - Probably the most charming episode of the whole show. *Worst* S1: I Was a Teenage Gary - Not horrible, but just plain harsh. S2: Dumped - Again, not too bad, but Patrick isn't very likable. S3: Ugh - Probably the only forgettable episode in this season. And in Spongebob standards, that's pretty bad. S4: Karate Island - Spongebob is very unlikable, even though he learns his lesson in the end. S5: Stanley S. Squarepants - Ugh... S6: Truth or Square - Just one great big middle finger to anybody who ever liked this show. S7: A Pal for Gary - Cruel, painfully unfunny, and disturbingly disturbing. I also liked "Krusty Towers" mostly on how they justified Squidward's actions just so you can be on his side, and "The Donut of Shame" because it showed Patrick actually thinking about his actions and the consequences of his actions.

I miss the intro.

I love it when you do the whole 'different review format' thing. For example when you reviewed the MLP episode 'Look Before You Sleep' while showing your avatar in a bar (or was it a diner?) and the episode clips in the corner. Now you've doing a review in the style of a court case. You're just great.

I'm glad you did this. I don't really like Modern Spongebob but the series has shown it has potential to be good again.

Surprised to see no Enchanted Tiki Dreams on the list, but aside from that, this list pretty much contains all of my favorite episodes. Especially Planet of the Jellyfish, it's a Spongebob Christmas and Friend or Foe. Great job Mr Enter.

I didn't like Tiki Dreams just for the ending. The first part of the episode was great, Spongebob and Patrick saw Squidward was sad and needed to get away and relax, so they built him an awesome little Tiki river. That's amazing, they seem in character and it even had a catchy song. What ruined it was the ending, instead of Squidward being at least slightly grateful for all the hard work they put into it, as soon as it's destroyed, by accident I might add, he continues to hit Spongebob and Patrick over the heads repeatedly with a boat swing... This is even odd for Squidward, and I always go by pre-movie Squidward's personality. I've seen him be malicious and horrible to Spongebob in past episodes, but it's usually for a reason, like Spongebob being annoying, playing on his yard, or disturbing his days off. All they did in this episode was build an entire river, make him smoothies, and help him be happy, there was no reason for him to be that cruel in the ending. It really brought the episode down for me... I guess you could say that he was just angry Patrick destroyed it, but he had an amazing day of relaxation and they were the ones who built it in the first place... just for him.

I think the reason why most people (myself included) would like Enchanted Tiki Dreams is that like Breath of Fresh Squidward, it's incredibly cathartic for those who hated Spongebob and Patrick annoying Squidward nonstop. I also like the song that plays in the episode.

It missed out because of SpongeBob & Patrick throwing I think mustard in their eyes. If it weren't for that, then it would have made it on his list.

I will mention some episodes from post season 4 of this cartoon and episodes prior to the 2nd movie that are quite enjoyable for me and a bit underrated. Ya know what I realized when I was watching this? The reason it took me a long time to hate modern SpongeBob (I didn't actually hate it until Season 8) is because of episodes like these. Wow, I was a gullible kid.

I loved a lot of these episodes too. They are rare gems.

I like how the 1st frame is a Phoenix Wright Courtroom. You just became about 25% more awesome Mr. Enter.

And yeah, I know they got Adam West to voice young Mermaidman in this episode's sister episode (which begs the question of why they didn't get him to do it for this one, but I digress), but you and I both know it wouldn't be the same. PS half of me would like to see an episode dedicated to Ernest, something like "they tried to get to the funeral but slapstick says NO", but the other half hopes to god they won't bother, for fear (and probability) of them fucking it up and horrendously disrespecting him.

Not that I know of. He's probably gotten better at voicing him since BBFB though. (yes... it's the same VA)

The writers of The Simpsons, Family Guy and Spongebob may not be able to write episodes as amazing as they used to, but what has been keeping them on all these years is their ability to write some new episodes that can still be good now in a new way! It's like the Make Way for Noddy episode where Mr. Sparks fixed the broken clock by making it work in a new way using new parts, and even a broken clock is right twice a day. June 4, 2019, 12:58pm

I've noticed that Spongebob has had quite a bunch of guest stars over the years, especially in these 25 episodes. We have R. Lee Ermey, Andy Samberg, and John Goodman to name a few. However, Spongebob has had very few female voice actors, because the only ones they regularly use are Carolyn Lawrence, Mary Jo Calett, Lori Alan, Jill Talley and Sirena Irwin. It's also one of the few modern American animated series that never uses Grey DeLisile, Tress MacNeille, Tabitha Saint Germain, Kath Soucie, Tara Strong, Cree Summer, or Lauren Tom. If I wrote any Spongebob episode scripts, I would give a new part to Tabitha first. May 26, 2018, 9:18pm
