What a great video!! Thank you so much for sharing your skills. Adding splinters to tighten up loose screw holes is absolutely brilliant! We got a 2-Fer! BONUS! 💖

Your video is worth the 2 cents you used. All you had to do was bend the top hinge knuckles.

That would have been the correct way to repair it. Plus longer screws and/or refill the holes with wood + glue and reset the screws. Leaving the pennies in there will cause hinge wobble and failure soon. Bad idea.

They make these screws called number 10’s. I have a box just in case I run into an issue with a stripped hole.

My father calls this 'rolling the hinge' and i use it all time! Can 'roll' the hinge forward or backwards, top and/or bottom and achieve a perfect reveal every time without touching the jamb

Thanks. I thought my lock's strike plate opening was never chiseled out right, when it turns out, the hinges aren't set right, so the door's not hung evenly.

@@dustyguy Have you repaired a door that gets swollen in the Summer just in the middle of the jamb/door at the latch area, where the rest of the door doesn’t rub? Metal exterior door. I don’t want to wait until Winter to address it.
