J'ai fais que 5 ans dans la Légion Etrangère au sein du 1 er régiment étranger d'infanterie de 1994 à 1999. Je regrette de n'avoir pas continué quand je vois la vie de merde dans le civile. LEGIO PATRIA NOSTRA restera ma devise pour la vie !!!!!!!

Justin Dinspechin it's not weird at all, Many Famous Americans have been in the Legion, in fact They have a Statue of an American Legionnaire in France to remember all Americans they came to fight for France in WW1. The most decorated OSS Agent of WW2 was in the Legion before he was in the U.S Marines, he was also big in Movies too his name was Peter J. Ortiz

You almost got it. just a few corrections: accolade: not sure either, but i would say "viril hug" "cockroaches in our heads" (cafard en tête): actually an expression meaning "having the blues" "we carry the name" (crénom de nom !! ) also an expression. Could be translated by "God dammit !"

I would really want to join the Legion Etrangere, but I'm only turning 18 next month and it has quite a big mortality rate (thing 1out of 8 die before first 5 years are over), and I don't want to risk dying already.... but all of you legionnaires out there you have all my RESPECT !!!!
