That was a very thorough review. As I was watching, questions would come up and they were all answered. Much appreciated, as always! Seems that unless you’re an Adidas fan, best look at the options mentioned.

I just picked up a pair of the SL's. My initial thoughts are completely opposite of you guys. I love the "firmness" of the midsole, but a big part of that may be because I'm probably a heavier runner 210lbs (95kg), so the midsole by its very nature would feel softer to me. Materials science is fascinating. Shoes that most people regard as soft feel to me as though I'm running in mashed potatoes. The SL has the perfect combination of springiness and cushioning for a man my size. I love them for intervals, up tempo runs, and basic daily training up to the 10k mark. They could probably go farther, but I'm a Track & Field athlete and don't have a need to take things longer than that during my regular season training. Keep up the great work with your reviews guys. Though I don't always agree with your reviews, I appreciate the hard work you put into them. Cheers.

You got a good point there. Most reviews are done by really skinny men. Bigger guys can probably use a little firmer foams.

I agree, ive done about 100miles in them they take time to break in yeah, but once they are broken in they are so nice, its refreshing to be in a old school style shoe, and as a bigger guy now i agree softer shoes are not they best, i want to feel some response, and the marshmallow shoes don't give me that feeling.

I overpronate but I could always use the Nike Pegasus shoes that normally works real well for me. But I recently got the Adizero SL and after one run I feel it is at least as good as the Pegasus 39 but with a bit better stability. Definitely it is 100 times better then my Puma Velocity Nitro 2 that the shoe got deformed in less then 90 km ran ... It twisted so much in the middle that no one could use it , not even for walking, and it had to go to the recycle garage. I have a good feeling that the SL will work well for me. I got it to replace both my RC 4 and the Pegasus 39 FlyEasy (500 km ran ).

Since I have passes to the Adidas employee store, I'm definitely gonna pick up a few pairs of these. (50% off there). It looks like it will be fun to run in. I can't be mad at $60 USD.

would still probably go for adios adizero 6 or 7 as just work really well for me, fun at slower speeds and feel good when you pick up the pace

Initially I didn't like it as I felt that something was poking into my arch. The shoe felt too firm for me. But after about 50km, I was surprised that it actually softened up!

I have the Pegasus 39 for daily training and the Takumi Sen 8 for faster stuff and got both of them for $190 combined, so I have no room for a meh shoe like this one.

It’s a bit more cushioned for easy daily training, and a bit cheaper, but there is certainly a lot of overlap here and the Adios is better!

Passable, quite ordinary running shoe. Basically, Brooks Ghost of Adidas. I'd rather take Adios 7 over this if it has to be Adidas shoe.
