Which City are you in?
I've been using the original 4DFWD for over a year now for gym on intense 1 hr long elliptical training sessions 2-3 times a week, best shock absorption i ever had on my feet, eva,etpu, air, zoom air, nothing came even close. And after complete break in after all this time it still preforms just as well because the midsole is so durable, it even lost the squeak it had when it was newer and now when i walk it is dead silent.

I’m a biomedical engineer and adidas 4d tech inspired my senior capstone. I really appreciate how you went into the engineering! Hearing about it all made me all excited about shoes and I really want to try these now that it’s not just a gimmick. I’m looking forward to the future when personalized midsole lattices are printed from foot scans!
@FootDoctorZach

Very cool! Yeah the print on demand was the original form of these a while back but the infrastructure to do it was so labor intensive and costly they went back to this type of modeling - would be cool to see what happens with it in a few years
As someone who's getting a Material Science degree soon, I am so glad I found your channel. I got the pair for 50% so I searched for reviews (post-buying it lmao). The way you tackle materials and how it is applied is very unique and I've yet too see a KZreadr who does this. Props to you mr foot doctor! I became the prince of Thailand because of these shoes….100% recommended
I have last year’s 4DFWD model and I love them. They’re the best running shoes I’ve run in, and they’re also really comfortable for casual wear. I’d say on the same level as the Ultraboosts, the classic style Ultraboosts that is, haven’t tried any of the newer style Ultraboosts. Even for running I’d say they’re better than the Ultraboosts or any other foam running shoe, as you can really feel the midsole pushing you forward by a lot, making you less tired.
Found a pair of the half sole at Ross and have absolutely loved them the past couple of months. Finally invested in a full sole pair that I should get in a week! I love these shoes.
I am not much of a runner or workout person, but I wear these for travel and walking around. I am a huge Ultraboost fanboy, but these are great. After a day of break in they were super comfortable. I got them in the stealthy grey/black colorway with some reflective areas. They look very cool and high tech, and are quite comfortable. Recommend.
Just bought the original 4d4wd and they did not disappoint really does like the shoe pushes you forward and is great for running! I shaved a minute 30 secs of my pb for a 5k run compared to my old gp turbos I was using to run in! I'd love to say I was the difference but I think the shoe really does get you further for less, could still do a short sprint at the end so agree with you it makes you more efficient with more energy at the end! Hopefully it's durability is good long term, I've come to expect nothing less from Adidas!
Very cool of adidas to send these for review. These are extremely interesting, German engineering at its finest. This seems to address the durability issues of long distance foams bottoming out.
I just bought this pair of shoes and now I understand why they are so special 😊
Great review! You answered all the questions I have including foot size recomendation and long distance running application. Thank you! Subbed.

Now that is interesting. I’m not a runner and there aren’t many areas out here where you don’t get attacked by peoples dogs they just let loose, but the tech here seems really neat. Finally pushing the envelope. I may want to try a pair. I normally wear boots but want something cool and casual for going out and of course the treadmill. Maybe I might be inspired to go running outside where I may not be mauled to death by dogs.
Awesome video as always. Is it possible to get you to review the Way Of Wade 808 2?? Or the 808 2 Ultra? I bet you would be impressed. Would really like to see someone who actually knows about shoes review it. Cheers buddy.
Thank you for such a great review 👏 Ive got a pair of Ultraboost 22s,.was going to order a 2nd pair but opted for Nike Infinity Flyknit, they arrived last night, I unboxed them then saw your review, re-packed the Nike for a refund and ordered the these! I'm excited to try them.
man such a cool shoe and such a good review looking at in depth, I couldn't understand the tech without your video so rad!
Hi, I haven't had the chance to fit these on. But being in isolation due to covid and trying to make the sale deadline, I'm planning to buy online. Just wanted to ask, concerning the forward propulsion it gives, do you actually feel it? Can I use it like in casual setting and still feel comfortable? Like with public speaking onstage, will it like compel me forward (even if I don't want to) with every step, like will it cause stress with me trying to fight the propulsion? Thank you in advance, sir!
I need this technology in some basketball shoes. It looks so comfortable!
I've tried it. It's very comfortable for my feet while standing and walking. Way better than the Adidas Superstar, CloudFoam and even adidas forum low shoes. The 4DFWD shoes is my favorites. Looking forward to buy 4DFWD 3. 👍🏼
Hi Doctor, I like how you explained the 4D tech of these shoes. I want to get these shoes for my daily running. I want to wear it all day at work & training, but the weight of this is heavy compared with other running shoes. Does the weight matter affect my 10k run? I'm still thinking between Addidas Boston 11 & 12 vs 4d. I don't have much experience with this. Could you give me a suggestion?
Lots of info on shoe. The shoe seems to offer some amazing innovations. Also, great cinematography. Pittsburgh riverfront looks like a great place to run.

Randomly found this review from the algorithm after watching adam savage gawk at the technology that makes them. A question for me would be, as someone who doesnt run, but suffers from several of the foot problems you described like shin splints, heel pain and even some knee tightness just on long walks, would this still be a good shoe recommendation to alleviate those problems?
Tremendous review man, keep up good work!
which shoe do you recommend for daily use as a bit heavy person this shoe or Adidas alpha boost v1 (please reply)
was considering these, sold from the fact that you went over the tech with the heel striking because that's how I often run. Thanks for the good video!

I'm trying to find the most comfortable shoe for my 220lb body for walking. Do you have any suggestions?
Just got it and after using it in one session, it definitely feels like you're in a people mover!
Are these good running shoes for people with flat feet , in terms of shock absorption , stability etc . If not can you suggest some brands that I should consider ?
Is this better than 4dfwd pulse 2? What is the difference do you have review on that shoe?
Hello, I wear a size 7.5 and was wondering if I should order a 7.5 or go w an 8th ?
Are these good with orthotics? I have wide feet and honestly not that stable while walking so i need orthotics to reshape my. Feet i guess. And for stability.
I am debating on getting these due to me liking the last addias running shoes I’ve had, they are 100$ on ducks should I?

Hi Dr. Zach, thank you for the amazing explanation in this informative video. I had a quick question. I play tennis on the hard court for 6 hours every week. I recently am suffering from the jumper’s knee and I suspect because I don’t have the right kind of shoes. I tried the 4DFWD 2 shoes and felt very comfortable for walking. Do you think these could be a good fit for playing tennis on hard court especially for the knee? Thank you in advance!
@FootDoctorZach

Nah you’d roll over in a sec in these - they’re better than other running shoes for sure for stability but not for tennis - jumpers knee needs to be managed under supervision so I’d talk to your local orthopedic surgeon

Good review, how about stability? Is it recommended for asymmetrically foot/leg due to flat feet/over pronation also slight knee valgus on one side? Does 4D feature help it without add orthotics insole?
@FootDoctorZach
Жыл бұрын
They’re more stable than most running shoes- in terms of knee issues you should try them on first because some people like the feel of a dynamic midsole vs some like a stiff setup- it’s all personal preference , I will say these have better shock absorption than 99.9% IMO
Can i use it for the gym?
Hey doc, do you think these have enough support for standing? AKA do you think these would work for OR shoes? I have regular ultraboosts that I use for walking around the hospital but they're too soft and my feet get fatigued after 1 hour just standing still..... also any recs for OR shoes? I used the typical clogs but I got heel pain from them being too hard, and I tried the super soft oofos but same issue as with the ultraboosts....
@FootDoctorZach
Жыл бұрын
Yeah I’d wear these for static stance- may take a day or two to break that in for that purpose but aside from a clog going more to the cushion category I can’t see something better suited IMO
I can’t wait for these shoes to come in the mail
Great video!
As i show from people that had them for 6 months they get holes in the same position in both shoes. Lets see what will happen with the new one that adidas released 2-3 days ago. They must make them more durable for once.
True to size for narrow foot??
This is off-topic. Can you review and dissect adidas ZX 22 boost?
Any concern with debris getting stuck in between that bow tie/lattice midsole enough to alter how it absorbs impact and propels forward?
@FootDoctorZach
Жыл бұрын
My wife asked me the same question- I didnt have any issues with that but i would say if you are on heavy mulch/really clumped pebbly dirt maybe, otherwise small bits im guessing will get pulverized
Can you sprint in these?
How is the weight? I have a pair of the Fusios, which was the lifestyle version of the 1.0 midsole lattice - before they introduced the FWD bowties - and while they aren't for running in the first place, they are way way too heavy to consider running at all. I like the way those feel but they're stiffer than they look. These 2.0s look lighter and softer, what are the specs?
@FootDoctorZach
Жыл бұрын
It’s in the video- watch the midsole teardown
When it comes to sizing what size do you recommend I get. I have a slightly wider foot. • Size 8.5 in most running and basketball and shoes. Also in air max’s and blazer mids. • Size 8 in Jordan 1’s and is my true to size fit usually.
@FootDoctorZach

List the fit in detail in the video
if we address going backward or lateral, does the tech covers that direction as well ? im curious
@FootDoctorZach
Жыл бұрын
If you’re talking about court movements like hoops or tennis no, there’s no containment of the midsole moving laterally- if they had some molding around it maybe combined with a dense foam around it could be cool but for now this tech is more for straight line “rolling” or “striding”
I think you moonlight as an engineer😄 well done review as always!
