I literally needed to set up my laptop to do work at home. And decided I needed to tidy up my room to have an organized space prior to starting my work. Started at noon. Got done washing my entire bed sheet set. Them made the bed with the duvet quilt and decorative pillows. Did all of my laundry, organized my shoes. Vacuumed and mopped. Did the dishes. Got done at 8pm. Which is when I began to do work!!! Had to stay up until 4am to finish the spreadsheet report due the next day for work! 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ Crashed and ended up waking up an hour late for work. 🤷🏽♀️ what was the purpose of exhausting myself until I crash! 🤣🤣🤣 FYI: I work for my moms accounting firm, this report was for a new client intake meeting. thank God my mom is very understanding of my mental battle. We’ve established a system where everything I work on at home, is saved on a cloud for her to ALWAYS have access to them. Her team closed the deal, it’s a team effort. 🙌🏽 Love her for all the support and attempt to understand what I go through day in and out! 💜

I will literally pile everything I'm 'working on' on the bed and when my bf gets home, if I took on too much, or started feeling unwell and hardly doing anything, he will complain there is no room in it for him and it must be cleared. This is a regular occurence for years now. From rearranging, unopened mail, laundry, sewing, to paperwork, dinner, and coloring for stress relief. I also have somewhat crippling migraines and chronic dizziness. There are 5 unopened mail here now. I don't want to deal with it yet or the garbage it will make and I have t minus 3 hours until no doubt an absolute fit.

I heard somewhere that the reason we do that is that the adrenaline works the same way as stimulants to help us focus. I have ADD, am on Adderall and have been for over 20 years. BUT, I wasn't diagnosed until I was 40. All that procrastinating and all those unfinished projects, it makes me sad. I can remember waiting until the last minute for the adrenaline rush that would let me overcome inertia and get going. Only I described it as working better under deadline, or something like that.

This is an absolute call out 😭 I literally did this 2 days ago
I literally just did this. Finished cleaning the house 😭🫶🏻
now she just needs to show us how to get the help we need
FUCK I HATE HOW ACCURATE THIS IS
it's like playing chicken with a train - you can see and here it coming but you'll feel it in your bones when it's time to get off the tracks.
This was me whenever I had an essay due for university that week. The sudden urge to finally organize the kitchen the day before the deadline was confusing, but appreciated none the less, because when my place is clean and organized I feel sane again. Not that I am usually insane, I am just deeply affected by visual stimuli, which makes me super anxious and pretty cranky. 😂
Bruh this is literally me, this is the whole reason I wanted my first 1st job
It’s the casually lifting the couch while still speaking normally for me-what is it about ADHD focus that allows you to pull off superhuman feats of strength without even realizing it??
Ah yes the wonderful productive procrastination, it feels so good
The unspoken ADHD code...anything to avoid the task 😂😂😂!!!
I just did this while my partner was at work and I had the child at home. They were so shock when the house was completely rearranged and the child was sleeping. I had to cook an extensive dinner and I was dreading so I randomly cleaned everywhere to help me get in the zone and be happy to cook!!!
Not me rearranging my room to prepare for an interview 😂
I'm leaving on vacation in 18hrs. I know what I need! To organize the bathroom cabinets! To bake all of our road trip snacks. And DIY personalized shirts. !!
As someone who lives alone and compares himself to HH Holmes with the amount of times I've built furniture or walls I relate to this on a spiritual level
Omg seeing this just triggered the home decorator in me and now I'm ✨🌟FIXATED 🌟✨
Omg thanks for reminding me to fold some laundry
This accurately reflects my entire college experience. My dorm room was never quite so clean as when I had a paper due in 3 hours that I’d barely started.
I DID THIS YESTETDAYYY! I moved everything in my room including my bed and yet that's how I got my room clean
Ok I literally just realized watching this video that I had a majorly RANDOM day of year where I rearranged every last piece of furniture in my room and just now I realized it was hyper fixation!
This was me today, like I don’t even know where it all came from!!
Why is this me? I swear, I've seen almost all your ADHD videos and I can relate to all of them.
OMG... 😂 Might not be a paper for college for me, just anything important but uncomfortable that should get done makes me take care of every all the other minor tasks that have piled up but aren't really that urgent. 😂😂😂
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve done this, honestly.
This mood always strikes at like 3 in the morning and I HAVE to do something about it 🤣😭
The rearranging thing would be me in my room, if I could lift my queen sized bed and Ikea furniture on my own... But I would re arrange it if I could, good to know that isn't just me. I have those moments where everything needs to be redone.
Literally couldn't focus on my work today until I sweeped the house and put my clothes in the closet
Not me doing every other task instead of what I’m supposed to do
I didn't know this could be related to ADHD. I just thought I was simultaneously lazy but motivated.
Oh yeah, this is why about once every two months I totally reorganize my room and my shelves
I still vividly remember the day I opened one of our cabinets and couldn’t find something I was looking for. It was like a switch flipped in my brain and the next three hours were spent cleaning and redoing our entire cabinet system. My dad probably thought I went insane, but at least now we don’t have five separate half-full boxes of spaghetti.
When Young did this all the time, now I'm old getting out of bed ,is more then enough, except the frustrated feelings , I need to do this .....but can't!!!!!!!!
Literally why I just moved my ENITRE room around last night.
Yep! Me when my room is a mess and decide to clean and rearrange my entire room. I have adhd and I do this all the damn time!
I desperately have to finish something on my computer so the bathroom finally got cleaned.
I would bake cookies until midnight then study for big exams. Exams days, I’d always have cookies, no sleep, but somehow ready for the test.
Me procrastinating washing my hair 😅
When you do everything except what you were planning:
I do this but it’s more about me having decided to do something productive with my day but cleaning is so much better than studying so I clean to still feel good about myself despite not having done any schoolwork.

Kopparberg?
That’s me…. Oml
I feel this on a visceral level 😖
Do this all the time!
This happens all the time to me I randomly decide to move one thing and then five minutes later the furniture is everywhere and I’m rearranging the whole room
I THOUGHT THIS WAS JUST MY SPARKLE!!!
I wasn't diagnosed but I just find your videos so relatable and very helpful...😄💕
I tend to get about halfway through ripping everything apart and then decide to stop so everything is worse and the paper still isn’t done 💀
I bought a fish, set up his tank, etc, the night before a test. Best impulse purchase ever (I had already researched it, don’t buy a fish on a whim if you don’t know what you’re doing)
Spent more time cleaning my room than actually doing the assignment Sunday night
As someone with ADHD I can relate so much to rhis
I haven’t been diagnosed but all of her videos describe me and now I’m worried. 😳
THIS IS AN ADHD THING??!!?! god that explains so much
I did this the other day. I had been forced into cleaning the day before and hated it but woke up deep cleaned, basically created a new bedroom and accidently launched my parent into a cleaning frenzy and pissed off all of the other children forced to help lol
For me I have ADD which is ADHD without the hyperactivity and I think this channel is so helpful and relatable ❤❤
I was literally gonna rearrange my room before i started studying for a test
Yesss people get me *almost cries * 😜
I am so happy I found you Olivia, I feel so seen 😭💜
Literally in the middle of an explosion of craft supplies of my own making…I may be half way through programming a new thing for work…but I’m sure that has nothing to do with it 😅
I know I have ADHD and I haven't taken like an official "test" and I told my doctor but she didn't do anything for it or told me anything about trying to handle it better. Your videos help me to recognize when and we're my ADHD is occurring. At least by knowing when it happend its a good start.
Me when school starts in like 21 days and I need to reset my entire room and closet put never finished it because I already spent all my money on impulse buying 😢😂
I was told I may have ADHD recently and freaked, there's nothing wrong with it and it really doesn't affect me at all but I just had to know and your videos have really helped me to realize why I do certain things and helped me to deal with some of my symptoms
I know this well I once mowed the lawn bagged all plant waste around our house vacuumed all carpets and cleaned the entirety of the basement the reset button huts hard
I do this. I do this every time I’m 3days behind on school and need to write 3 papers with a diagram before tomorrow
This is something I have done many a times when I felt like there's something I need to be doing I would do the other thing adjacent to it that didn't really need to be done but it would help me get motivated to do the thing I needed to do just for me to do that thing and stop halfway through because I lost interest in doing it. I hate it too.
I sweep, mop, do dishes, clean counters and tables before doing tasks as simple as filling out a one page medical sheet XD TnT
OH. MY . GOSH. I thought this was only me!!! And I didn’t know it was an adhd thing!!!
Literally, DUH I needed a the right vibe 😄🥰 love your videos
I can not tell you how many times I have done this
Ok the worst part is when u get tired half way through and give up then cry because it’s messy
Well it makes total sense for me.
AHAHAHAHAA IT MEEEEEEE! Oh my god, every finals week my roommates would come home to the CLEANEST apartment ever, my laundry, their laundry, everyone’s laundry was folded, surfaces dusted, the fridge was spotless, one time I even cleaned the trash can…..ugh
I have to clean to write my papers as well 😭😭😂😂
Sometimes you gotta re-engage yourself with your living space to feel any kinda way about chores and tasks. Gotta get that dopamine wherever you can, baby!
