I totally cried at the end during the final dominos falling part because I knew what it meant was that somehow despite all the problems and roadblocks that not only did everything eventually fit into the new routine, some of the roadblocks became a part of making the final routine work. So much joy and hopefulness that this can be true! *sigh*

When you said "Crying in the middle of a grocery store", I thought you had literally been spying on me. I had developed a routine of buying a specific kind of coffee drink at the local grocery store. You know how much us brains love caffeine. Well, this store suddenly stopped carrying it and I actually did cry in the middle of the grocery store. Thankfully, I have since found another store that sold them.

Kayla G. I have found an amazing grocery store that will special order anything. It's been very helpful for my ADHD/OCD for specific flavors/brands that most stores like to drop. It's helped me not to have the grocery store breakdowns. Mine usually happens to be special candy bars. You hardly ever can find Skor or Charlestown Chews. But they have them always there for me.

That's so cool! I really love to drink the cans of Starbucks Doubleshots. You can get them at actual Starbucks stores, but so much more expensive than buying the four packs they sell them in. I found the drinks at Walgreens. I live in a city and there is literally a Walgreens every few streets, so it's not a problem to find them. The initial breakdown was just the fact that I couldn't get them at the store I was currently at and really wanted/needed them. My brain tends to pretty reactive. ;) I just had to calm down and look in another store Thanks for the awesome, encouraging comment, though!

Kayla G. I had a crying fit once because I always take a shower immediately after cleaning the bathrooms, and my brother decided to wake up and take a shower just as I was finishing cleaning the second bathroom. Our water heater was small, so I had to wait 45 minutes for the water to be warm again for me to shower. I felt like I couldn't move on with my day until I'd had that shower. I literally just sat in my room that whole time, touching nothing, furious with my brother. He knew my routine and he didn't care. He only wanted the shower to avoid going somewhere he was supposed to be. I normally wouldn't have cried about it, but I guess I was having a stressful week and I really needed that little bit of dependable routine in my life.

I just found this channel weeks ago and am the only adult "in real life" that I know has ADHD. I often feel like my reactions, my behaviors, etc, are so weird. I am 28 years old and I've just started the process of accepting myself the way I am. Do I react to things in a way that is so differently than others? Yes, I do. But that's okay. It's been so freeing and inspiring to find this channel and accompanying pages. There are so many of us out there and we're all going to be okay!

#hello Tammy! Tammy is the first person with diagnosed ADHD that I ever met, she was open, willing to educate, bubbly and unashamed. It was because of her I became open and aware that ADHD was a real thing. Several twists and turns later, which includes finding this channel, and my husband is going in for diagnosis as soon as possible. This has been a life changing discovery, without it I might have been divorced already and my husband out on the streets. That is why I put forth "Tammy" as a name for your awesome helper!

I just started a new job this week as a lead preschool teacher. The current teacher decided not to return after winter break. I had been working as a temp. teacher's aide in the preschool and told them I'd be interested in a promotion like that, if one should become available. I, however, was totally not expecting a mid-school-year transition! This week, I have been running around like a crazy person, with no stable routine in sight. I have a faith that we will both adjust soon!

Love your videos!! I honestly learnt so much by watching. I'm 25 years old and married. Sadly my ADHD effects my marriage in many ways. Ways that I didn't know was because of my brain. I have only now know from watching your videos. This includes being extremely forgetful with appointments and forgetting to hang up laundry, and even forgetting to fill the car up with gas. I am currently working on my sleeping, I am the dead sleeping in the morning. I had no idea my brain had a play in 3 alarms going off and sleeping through them for more than a hour. My wife yells at me to get up and always makes a sly remark like "you just need to wake up, it's not that hard". Of course I fight back being early in the morning not awake yet and no filter. I often snap until my meds kick in. I have now started to set 2 alarms. With a pill on top of my phone. First alarm goes off, try to awake and take the pill and fall back asleep. The second always goes off 30 minutes later. Enough time for some to be active. It has made a difference with my mood in the morning. But my real question is how can I get my wife to understand what it's like to have ADHD. I often try to explain myself when I snap or say the wrong things and also when I can't comfort her when she's upset. She always thinks I'm using it as a crutch or an excuse. She knows very well that I have extreme ADHD as when I don't take my medication she wants to kill me and I eat all the food. I think she may only think ADHD is just hyper and the lack of focus. Keep up the good work on the videos. I love them! Have binged watched them all since I found them 3 days ago haha

How to ADHD I'm really going to try and get a second opinion! Turns out my sister had a similar run in with that doctor about her depression in which she told her to just "get up early" and "eat healthy" when my sister had already reached a serious point in depression in which it wasn't that simple of a solution. Also she didn't use facts to support this she used personal experience, so I'm really going to try and get another opinion. Thanks for replying! I love your channel and if I hadn't found it I may have not figured this all out until I was already an adult.

@@notsotypical6202 Hang in there! I second your plan to get a second opinion because you should trust your instincts when a diagnosis doesn't feel or sound right. We expect to be able to trust a doctor's opinion -- they're the experts after all. But even the best doctors aren't infallible and, unfortunately, you may run across some practicing who are well down the ladder from "best" or who are decent enough except for their arrogant tendency to offer uneducated opinions/diagnoses outside their area of expertise. Nice your gut reaction was backed by what you learned from your sister's experience!

Both of my brothers and I were diagnosed with ADD as pre-teens, and though my parents did (what I consider) a wonderful job with what little resources were available in the late 90's/early 2000'@, I have found that as I reach my 30's ... #hello Pinky & (the) Brains!!! (Maybe just Pinky for short!) #hello dar Wee-LiL-Ones (ALWAYS in either an A) Irish or B) Scottish Brogue -- preference goes to the abilities of the KZreadr :) #hello Trollo #hello F-UN-locker (the Legendary assassin of ancient Chinese finger-puzzle locks) #hello Eye 2 Eye (goofy movie) #hello Digits or #hello Digitus (see Latin Dictionary) #hello Smarmy (nothing personal, just sounds fun) #hello 2fur #hello two-sies This has been a mighty pleasure and a timely one at that! This is PRECISELY what I'm working on right now! I've been so impressed with your ability to learn, digest & not MERELY disseminate, but dominate Youtubing of complex and jargon-filled concepts into simple, bite sized and above all Entertaining videos. I share these with most everyone that I ensnare beyond 2 minutes in conversation. I find myself in this incessant battle against ignorance with a healthy peppering of apathy sandwiched everywhere I go-which makes my appreciation for your creative spirit and dedication rise with every video!!! Thank you again for all of your diligent efforts--I'm sure this has been SO much more difficult than you've been letting on (as charming and forthcoming as you are dearie ;) I truly find your dedication and work towards your/the tribes goals an inspiriation and a model for my own struggles. Best of wishes and your friend truly, #hello Scrumptious

Thank you! I'm just not sure what kind of reward I can give myself. I have this problem where I'm not interested in anything at all except video games (Call of Duty) but I can't play them unless I have taken my meds because I get extremely frustrated. Idk what causes it or why. It really affects loved ones also. If you see this, I left a comment on your video "How to take tests" and i'd appreciate it if you'd look at it. I need help..
