If Romero had fought the way he usually does like a brawler I'm sure I'd have a bit more confidence knowing Izzy has a formula for Costa from the get-go. However that didn't happen so he'll have to go through a first round of unexpected shit before he formulates some sort of strategy. Costa will be on him on white on rice.

Israel is a gonna be fighting a pure stand up fight (if costa doesn't change his style), and we all know Izzy's striking is light years ahead of every fighter in the UFC, furthermore, the Middle Weight divison. This man's kickboxing record is insane. Costa has no speed, no cardio, no power, and no chance to beat Israel. I see this going almost exactly like when he fought vettori. Check that fight out, its what got Izzy recognized as a Matrix type fighter, literally looked like Neo in that cage. Check that fight out, i think its what it will look like. Constant coming forward from Costa and beautiful movement from Izzy

yo can we get some love for that fucking transition? they introduce Costa at 0:19 with a heavy track and then push Izzy to the forefront at 1:34 with a precision violin track, and the pause at 2:01 transitioning to that spinning elbow... I got goosebumps on that shit bro had to watch that a few times... just masterful work on the video incredible

Paulo Costa is larger and more powerful than anyone he's ever faced by a country mile (besides Romero which was essentially a non-fight). I still pick Israel as the favourite due to his excellent counter striking and composure, but this will be extremely tough. If Gastelum could rock Adesanya then he's going to have to be extra cautious against Costa, one good combo could end it and with Costa's marauder style he'll need to keep that caution up constantly.

The thing people forget about Adesanya is his Glory Kickboxing days. He was a cruiserweight and heavyweight champion. Let that sink in before you think no power is coming out of his striking. You just can't underestimate him. He's good at adjusting. Many fighters think otherwise and end up sleeping. "You are skinny and need to lift some weights" Yeah right. Look what happened. Skinny dudes can pack a hell of a punch. Some people are just born with that gift. Not to say Costa is a slouch in anyway. He's an absolute animal, but he's doesn't want to sleep. Adesanya knows how to time his shots. Those you don't see coming are the ones that hurt the most. He has been a champion on every platform he's touched. People need to stop sleeping on dude. He's fought bigger opponents before and gave them rough waters to travel in. I think Adesanya will end up frustrating him.

they also make of this fght a highly technically skilled guy in the person of izy versus a powerfull monster in the person of costa, but costa, as a fighter, is much more technical, clever, and dominant than most people admit. His body punches are simply the best of the 500 fighters in the ufc, he has very precise low, middle and high kicks, not only is he powerfull but he's also sharp and fast. His striking is franckly very pure and beautiful. My favourite fighters are tyson, buakaw, ramon deckers, alexey ignashov , saenchai etc... but in the ufc costa delivers much more than just the raw power everyone wants to reduce him to...

@@astralseeker But you see Costa throw most of his punches only after he pressured his opponents into the cage. He does have decent punches but he relies to much on the cage to hit/ avoid the opponent dodging. Also he is definitely outclassed in striking technique by izzy. Izzy has some of the best faints in mma and i think Costa will fall for faints way to often. If he hits izzy clean or takes him down he will surely win. But izzy has outstanding defensive striking and very good takedown defense. Meanwhile Costa's own defense isn't that good enough when he falls for the faints izzy puts out.

Izzy played a safe but intelligent game. Was it boring? yes! but considering how explosive yoel is, i would say smart move by izzy. What was fucked about the game was yoel not utilising his wrestling at all during the game. He might have tried one takedown or something. He shouldve been on that khabib mode. Because we have yet to see how would izzy perform against high skilled wrestlers. Yoel had a chance to be a champion and he simply blew it. On the other hand yes it wasnt a pretty win for izzy but u gotta remember hes still a fighter who ffed up plenty of good fighters (whittaker, kelvin etc).

@@Zak0179 could not agree more with you about styles make fights. But as a big fan of both i did expect them to do sth amazing that would be remembered many2 years even after they die. Izzy calls romero (a very intimidating fighter) to carve his legacy, he had to perform impressive fight. i hoped he would have the courage to take the risk, get out from his comfort zone as a counter puncher and initiate some attacks, he is a stylebender after all, i have faith in him that he could manage it well. and for romero, it's a chance of a lifetime. He got a title shot, the hype was on him because Izzy wanted him.. wow.. it supposed to be his time to prove how scary he is! he is a beast, an extraordinary fighter! Nobody could mess around with him. but, he didn't go to get it. did he forget that many times the judge decisions were not in favor of him because the fights were tight. (many believe that he was robbed) so what actually he is waiting for? he had to prove it, didn,'t he? And sadly (this is what i believe) this ufc thing is not merely about sport but bussiness. If the supporters and audiences want them, they would get a big chance and off course great money. in my opinion their fight is not good for bussiness and for romero, he would never get another big opportunity like this. it's ok for izzy because Costa was there, throwing some trash talk, the atmosphere was heated, people want them.. soon enough they would be the main event.

I love how the two very best guys in 3 divisions back to back have all emerged at the top. One of the truest benefits of MMA matchmaking over boxing. We got Khabib vs Tony at 155. Kamaru vs Masvidal at 170 and Adesanya vs Costa at 185. Look at 205 now compared to years ago with Rampage, Rashad, Lyoto, Chuck, Shogun etc now there’s hardly anyone. Gotta love this sport and your videos make us love it more!!
