Yep, 100%. I'm the daughter of an alcoholic. My dad's brother was an alcoholic who lost his battle. My dad's father was also an alcoholic who lost his battle. Alcohol is literally everywhere. As an Australian, alcohol is a massive part of our culture. Alcohol companies sponsor sports events, alcohol is almost expected at barbecues, Christmas, weekends, literally anything. I don't drink. I'll occasionally have A drink. One. I've never had more than one. I don't enjoy it and I'm super mindful of my genetics. The amount of crap I've gotten for not drinking is nuts. People always question me. They want to know why. They try to pressure me, or tell me I should relax or am too uptight etc. It's beyond unhealthy and it's great that Jaclyn is speaking up and sharing how common it is to have unhealthy relationships with food/alcohol.

As a recovering heroin addict, I’ve always felt for alcoholics so badly! I couldn’t walk into any store that’s on practically every block in town and buy dope. I couldn’t go out to a meal and cop dope. At weddings, there wasn’t drug stations and a “signature bag” as part of the theme. There’s not drug commercials. Heroin doesn’t sponsor the super bowl. Crack and cheese isn’t a fancy thing lol! It’s literally everywhere and it’s got to be sooo fu$king ROUGH! It’s beyond awful!

As a recovering addict, people who have a normal healthy relationship with alcohol never have to question their own relationship with alcohol. Since you are questioning it so much and have so many concerns about it, that is something to think about. Only you can come to your own conclusion though but that statement is what helped me realize I had a problem.

  • @angelrebekah9153

I have to agree. When she was talking about how obsessed Americans are with alcohol, I couldn't disagree more. There are people who have a problem with it, but there are way less of those people compared to people who don't have an issue. I go out and never get pressured by a waitress to order a drink, but I don't have a problem with alcohol and neither does anybody that I hang out with, so its not something I think about. I also wonder if she's telling her therapist that she's getting so drunk that she barely remembers things. She wouldn't be doing that if she had a handle on things. And I'm not judging. My grandpa died a heroin addict this past December. I just don't think she's admitting the issue she has and Jordan isn't helping by drinking or having alcohol around. Just my thoughts.

@@angelrebekah9153 yea she keeps rationalizing and justifying her drinking and feels a way when people who see thru it and who have been thru it are speaking up. She not telling us the severity of her drinking #1 and it don’t matter how much we see, if we see red flags in a 10 sec clip it’s still a red flag

I saw a lot of comments on the last video expressing concern about the mixed messages she was sending. It's hard to follow a line of thought that says, "I have a problem with drinking" but then pivots and says, "I'm rewarding myself with a drink." It's real easy to get on here and whoop and cheer and say, "You go, girl!" but does that really help her in the long run? I really like Jaclyn and am rooting for her, but cosigning self-sabotaging behavior will always be a no for me.

Hey, Jaclyn! Just wanted to let you know that you opening up about the alcohol situation made me realize that every time I went out I felt like I NEEDED to drink in order to have fun or cause I thought drinking made me funnier… I’m much more aware of that and since then I went to a few events and didn’t drink at all and discovered that, in fact, I don’t need to drink to have a good time. I feel great the next day (no more hangovers), I remember everything, I am sociable and it’s not at all awkward. So, yeah. Thank you for being so raw and honest about such a heavy topic.

One thing my therapist taught me and I learned this just the other day and that is the moment you have to explain yourself to try to defend yourself as the moment makes you feel guilty you don’t have to explain yourself to people. Because at the end of the day you got to do what’s best for you. Who cares what everybody thinks they don’t know what you’ve gone through and what you’re going through. KZread is like an iceberg he only see 10% of it above the water the other 90% of it is below the water that people don’t see what is all behind the scenes that you’re doing with on a daily life we don’t see in KZread. Girl you keep doing you keep your head up and ignore all the bullshit. So proud of you. People always hate you because you’re not meant for people and other people are not meant for you. Keep doing you.

Thank you for being so open about your struggles with alcohol. It is so refreshing to hear an influencer use their platform in this way. I also had inflammation in my face due to alcohol and it was the absolute worst I’ve ever felt in my life. I hated the way I looked, but drinking is so normalized in our society, that it was more normal for me to have an inflamed face then to stop drinking. I’m now nearly 3 months sober and have seen so much of my inflammation go down. Thank you for sharing your journey.

I have to say: thank you. Thank you for being transparent, showing your good and bad days. For humanizing issues as important as the ones you show. I know it will be difficult, being a public person makes you an easy target to be judged. Sadly our society is like that. But you, you're doing your part to make it different. Thank you very much, because you are doing that part of being an influencer, you are influencing lives, in the best way.

First of all: You’re GLOWING and so beautiful without makeup☺️ It’s so sad how we live in a society that is constantly putting judgement on others, how alcohol is the center of everything. I actually stopped drinking myself for the past 2 years or so and only have a drink every now and then and it’s a good feeling! Keep being real you doing what’s best for you💛

I’m so glad you’re seeing how much you’re helping despite all the mentally unstable people constantly coming at you whenever you post LITERALLY anything. So exhausting! I can’t imagine being so bored with myself that I consciously choose to spend my precious time shitting all over someone for being vulnerable and brave. ALSO, I’m personally choosing not to drink and it’s not easy when your loved ones aren’t on the same journey. You’re so right - basically every social gathering requires a person to have a drink in hand. People really are obsessed with alcohol! If I want to host a gathering, I honestly forget that people will probably expect alcohol to be available so I have to run out and buy it! I’m fortunate to not have any dependency on any substance, but I choose not to drink because I’m trying to lose weight and generally be happier (without needing a vice to get there). My vice is emotional eating, and being an abuse survivor, food has been a huge crutch for me. Healing myself inside and out, and trying to only put nourishment into my body, alcohol just isn’t a part of that and actually hinders it. Not to mention, the second I turned 28, I started getting horrible hangovers after one drink, and now I don’t even have to participate to feel like shit the next day 🤣 Everyone out there with non-drinking friends - please support and lift up those people in your life, still include them in things (even if they’re not a drinker / big partier), don’t pressure them to drink, and don’t draw attention to the fact that they’re not partaking while everyone else is. It’s hard being the one person doing something different. We’re not against fun, everyone has reasons for their choices, and we’re definitely not judging you for your choices! 🤍

Loved the part where you say, “I can’t imagine being so bored with myself that I consciously choose to spend my precious time shitting all over…” this is so true man! People really need to get new hobbies and do a deep self-reflection because there is NO WAY they can be content with that type of negative energy spewing out of them constantly!!

Thank you so much for being real and transparent. It’s really helped me so much. I’ve been getting into exercise which has always been a hard thing to do and doing other health things that I wasn’t motivated to do. I haven’t had soda in an over a month which I didn’t think it was worth not drinking if I’m not actually on a diet, but just that choice has made me feel so much better which motivates me to make other smaller healthy choices.

Ok I had to edit and say, put all your energy into finding a personal assistant that’s going to kick your bootie into making lists and have HER/HE take it from there. You’ve mentioned redoing your bedroom….your PA can bring samples, ideas and just everything you’ll need💁🏻‍♀️ Ok again with the edit!😊your bedroom in neutrals and lots of textures!

Hello Jaclyn, my wife watches your videos and I have grown to enjoy learning about you. First, I want to congratulate you on your engagement. You have a glow that you express when Jordan is near. I would like to share with you my thoughts about the comments others say about you. Every individual who says hurtful things towards you are battling their own demons. Thoughts can become a whirlwind of deception. Instead feel the happiness and embrace the beauty that you have become. The loved ones who cherish you for who you are the uplifting force that will guide you. Those who chose to bring you down sadly want just that. You know you are a strong woman who has overcome many obstacles. The trouble is the ego will never allow us to accept ourselves while listening to the negativity of others. Listen to your inner voice and be aware of what brings you joy. Keep your head up high for there is a light at the end of the tunnel. It is you. It is your true self, a loving soul with a limitless potential.
