Additional Quantum of Pension of 5%, 10% & 15% to 65, 70 & 75 Years Rejected?
-Proposal for additional quantum of Pension after completion of 65,70 & 75 years of age - Rejected summarily
• The Parliament Standing Committee in its 110th report recommended during February 2022 to consider the demand of additional pension at the rate of 5%, 10% and 15% to the pensioners attaining the age of 65,70 & 75 years respectively.
• On 8.12.2022, action taken report was tabled in the Rajya Sabha under report No 120
• Information collected about the age group of pensioners to work out the additional quantum of pension in all the departments like railways, postal, defence etc.
• Proposal was sent to DOE about the financial implications. DOE questioned that DOP&PW has not stated as to how the additional financial implications would be met.
• DOE observed that due to Old Pension scheme the liabilities are not only large (2.7 lakhs crores during 2022-2023) but increasing year after year.
• Further increase is not desirable and will put in to significance pressure on the Govt finances.
• It will have a cascading effect on the state of Finance and similar demand will arise from the retired State Govt employees.
• DOE not agreed the proposal and rejected.
• The Parliament Committee takes note of the reply and do not wish to pursue this matter further.
• Thereafter SCOVA meeting was held to discuss about the pensioners issues on 22.2.2024.
• The Department of Pension & PW released the 33rd SCOVA Meeting held on 22.2.2024 on 3.4.2024.
• Enhancement of additional pension to the pensioners after every 5 years ie. 65,70 &75 years of age before 80 years was discussed.
• The Govt rejected the demand and the minutes stated that the proposal has huge pension liabilities due to old pension scheme.
• It will have cascading effects on the Govt finances since the same demand will be raised by the State govt employees.
• Due to financial constraints the proposal has not been agreed to.
• Unless there is a political decision this is not possible at this juncture.

If Mr Modi is elected again he may stop the pension for all the retired Government employees. No court can interfere in this regard.

Yes, Pensioners are Teethless and Govt is Ruthless. God willing if there is change in the Govt, it may materialize, but most of us wont be alive to receive the benefit. Till such time we always will get raw deal from this Govt. The pity in our country once an employee become 60 they become a spent force, despite the fact we were part of the Economy when were in service. It also heartening to see many of our comrades are all gone and rest of us who are alive and counting.
If they stop weaving of loans of lakhs of crores of corporate s theycan easily disbursement possible to govt

Our country's income has increased in crores. This amount is not a problem at all to Govt.comparing to income . It became a political issue not welfare issue.

Time has come to BJP hatao mohim. This government can't do anything for retirees personnel above 65yrs and too senior citizens. BJP Hatao Pensioners Bacahao. Jumla baji government Murdabad. ❤❤❤
It Means by the govt has made committee of MPs not for the welfare of the Sr, Citizens &Pensioners it is for their trip for enjoyment with the government money.
