Adding Diamonds To a Brand New Audemars Piguet

Ойын-сауық

Factory diamond Audemars Piguet vs After market? DID WE DESTROY THIS AP for NBA STAR Gary Trent Jr. He commissioned us to create a one-of-a-kind watch. We built him a special converted two-tone AP Royal Oak Iced Out with True VS Emerald-cut Diamonds, starting from the original AP 15500 Factory Model. The market price is currently around $65,000 - $70k. Danny explains why the value of certain iced-out watches is worth less than if they were plain jane. Jeni assists Erica Mena with a transaction for her new watch. She traded in her iced-out Cartier & AP to get a New Factory Plain Jane Rose Gold Royal Oak AP with box and cards. Cooper The Cat fools around the office, while Maks takes a trip to the Bape store looking for a certain watch. Max Gomez hooks his local bodega man up with a nice Frank Mueller watch with Box and Papers. Let us know what you think of this week's episode in the comments below!

I fully understand why it decrease the price. Most people have decent taste and don't want a blinged out watch, so obviously a more elegant, subtle original look will get way more buyers than the blingy look. It's like putting spoilers and other sh on an expensive car. Yes, you wil be spending extra money on a car, but in the end if you decide to sell a heavily modded car not that many people will be willing to buy it

You hit the nail on the head. The blinged out watches, regardless if the aftermarket diamonds have a value apart from the watch, they make the watches look like shit. but that is what happens when people with new money that want to show off how much they have do---> they think Im going to take this piece of valuable art, and then going to add diamonds to it and that will make it more valuable. They dont understand what makes the artwork (aka the jewelry / watch) highly priced is its engineering, elegance, craftsmanship, and brand name. The actual precious metals in the watch make up a small segment of the value of the watch. What one is paying for is what was pointed out before, and blinging it craps on that. Because drilling in the setting alones destroys the craftsmanship and elegance of the original watch. Jewelry is like artwork and the value is in the eye of the beholder. If very few people find a particular piece of art desirable to look at then there will be a low demand and it will command less value. Highly desirable = high demand = high value.

Yup, not everything has to be an investment. Watches weren't always seen as investments anyway... not too long ago people just bought what they liked and didn't worry about resale or making money on it. If the man wants iced out let him get it. Bad investment, yes. But he prob got plenty of good investments that he can afford to enjoy some money even if it's a waste.

  • @BabyJesus66

@@tyjordan1821 all jewelry is a dumb ass purchase. Almost none of it is an investment. Watches just recently started becoming good investments and most only 2-3 brands. Even pure gold bullion isn't that great of an investment. But it's no different than buying clothes or shoes, or anything else people buy to try to look cool. Shits worth next to nothing after you wear it. Same with jewelry nobody's gonna pay much over scrap price for used jewelry if you try to sell it back to a jeweler.

I’m pretty sure I’ve heard Trax warn people beforehand plenty of times about adding after market diamonds, I think he used Rolex as an example. If you don’t have them put the diamonds on themselves then you immediately devalue the watch. It’s weird how it works but that’s just how it is.

It's rare someone puts high quality stones on a watch, they are tiny in size so people figure why spend extra money adding better diamonds to a watch. Anyone who is a watch person knows that adding aftermarket diamonds to bling out a watch will cause it to lose value but it's your money and if you want diamonds on your watch then do it. But I find it tacky and it ruins the look of the watch.

Just curious about fixing my old 18K bracelet, I love the style, but I am unsure if it’s better to simply have a new one made of the Same design versus repairing. The links are dented and the gold is Byzantine and I don’t to see lighter tones.. Maybe I can upload photos because I am trying to minimize cost, especially risk to mail it from Canada.. Thanks and. I love Your opinions on the video!

Omg… drilling those holes in a brand new 15500st hurt my soul. Should have just done it on a preowned one. What a waste of money. 🤦🏻‍♂️

I really agree with you about the Gold Rolex moving longer away. It’s crazy that especially Daytonas are dobbled in Price at Greydealers.. and anywhere Else exept the AD’s..
