Before you start make sure you look under the hood and make sure you have the module. I had the plug but no cruise control module

Okay, I purchased the module after buying the stick and finding I needed the module (compared to my 2500HD and didn't think there was one), bought thr module and can't get it working. Any guesses on how to program this?

I don't see a 4 pin connector 05 gmc. I see a place on the dashboard for a cruise light, but dont see where to plug in the 4pin

You should've showed checking if your truck has the cruise control module under the hood. I imagine 99% of vehicles wouldn't have it.

If you buy an OEM stalk,, the wire color from the stalk match the truck wire harness ,, You have to make a 12” or so “harness” to connect the two

This is the second video I've seen where someone just adds a new turn signal lever that has the cruise controls on it, plugs in that connector and viola, cruise control. If the truck has a cruise control module and hookups for it why wouldn't there be controls for the cruise control on the lever?

I’m guessing it was a factory upgrade. Anyone who wanted cruise probably had to pay an extra $500 or something like that for it. But basically just a money maker for GM

@@jeffdeshong I think you're right. Also I guess on the Chevy/GMC pickups after '94 the cruise control is integrated and doesn't require a cruise control module like the older ones do. I have an '89 K1500 that has the module. I saw another video where a guy was adding the cruise module to his truck and there are indents in the firewall where the module screws go and a circle patch to put the cable and rubber grommet through for the controls. So on the earlier years if you don't have the controls on the level you wouldn't have the hardware in the engine compartment for the cruise.

It only works on certain models, My 4.3 is a drive by wire not computer , so it also needs a module with a physical wire to hold the throttle body open. I will link a video

"why wouldn't there be controls for the cruise control on the lever?" Vehicles are sold as a variety of models all built on a standard BASE. The factory doesn't know which features will sell at the point of manufacture so they create a basic wiring harness that will accommodate this accessory or that feature and let the DEALER add what the customers want at the point of sale - in this case, simply swapping out a turn signal lever/assembly adds a feature and bumps teh price point a few hundred dollars. Maybe you want intermittent wipers? How about a Backup Camera or fuggin fog lites? Ca ching, ca ching. If they had to build these things in at the factory and each vehicle had a wiring harness specific to the features installed . . . understand?

Can someone please explain to me what wires go where the cruise control handle has red black yellow and blue the column harness wires that are for the cruise control is Gray/with black stripe = B1 Dark blue = B10 Brown = B18 Gray or Gray/with white stripe = B32 any help is appreciated

If you buy an OEM / ac delco stalk, the wires are the same color as the harness

What year is this truck? Six or Eight or Diesel? I'm looking to help a fella with a 2003 6 cylinder truck and am NOT SURE his truck is pre-wired. Anyone know for certain?

Bought the switch, changed them out, NOTHING. Fuse is good but the cruise doesn’t work 🙄

Did you check to see if you have the cruise control box under the hood? It is located on the firewall on the drivers side. TWA motorsports has a video on installing the actual controller.

@@jeffdeshong I got it installed...no one does a video on how to get the top of the column cover off of a van so a little breakage occurred. I'll let you know tomorrow if my two pin worked.

@@jeffdeshong Well...my fuse block has corrosion in it so it might be a while before I know if my2 pin works...but it should as there is only a 2 pin connector and my knew one came with the same.:)

I've been going down a rabbit hole. I replaced the turn signal lever because the windshield leaked and I figured that it got wet which caused my indicator to blink fast like a bulb was out. There was corrosion but that didn't stop the fast blinking. I replace the flasher relay and that helped but the dash lights still blinked with the brakes applied and the blinker on so I replaced the brake switch. That helped but it still wasn't right so I dug into the wiring. AS it turns out, both of the wiring harnesses for the brake lights were bad. Everything now works with the exception of the cruise. Now it's time to start hunting down fuses. I'm thinking I have a bad ABS fuse somewhere. I'll let you know.
