Adding Caster Wheels to a Sit Stand Desk

This is the Vevo Sit Stand Desk and it needs wheels. I found a way to remove the feet from the desk and add my own custom caster wheels from my local hardware store.

This is a great video. I've been trying to figure out how to get my work/lab/studio space to be adaptable without looking like a horder with ADHD lives there and putting things on wheels means reconfiguring is a lot more flexible.

I'm surprised casters aren't an option from Vevo. Nice job of making it work with what is available.

Some of these sit stand desks do have wheels as an option. I did not check to see if vivo has them on the site.

I would probbly have just removed the original casters and used metal screws to mount the casters directly into the bottom of the desk's legs rather than going the wooden spacer route. What you did worked fine, but seems to have been lots of extra steps. Keep up the good work and videos!

Looks good! You might need to add a brace at the bottom between the legs. If you notice any wobble or flex in the legs, especially when rolling, a brace will prevent side to side racking.

You see. Your comment is an example of why I read comments on tutorial and demonstration videos. I did not think about leg splay for my desk. My desk legs are not connected to each other. The desktop is the connecting piece. I have about 80 lb. on the desk most of which is in the center (heavy pole monitor stand with three monitors). Your comment saved me the hassle of trying this myself. Removing and putting things back with this set up is half day job which is why I want wheels in the first place. TY

Why do you pulse the drill when making your holes? Just drill on through.

This hammer drill can knock a hole in the plywood in a split second. That 1/2" bit will pull through and twist a wrist. After doing that a few times I like to take it easy.
