I installed a hidden 12,000 lb winch on the front of my Ford. I never used it to pull the truck out but it rescued my tractor a few times. Looks good!

Exactly. I scraped one knuckle but that is just proof that I did something

I have a similar bumper from Westin. I had it powder coated first, but didn’t like it. I then got it Line-X ed. I like the way it looks. I also got the rear bumper in steel too. Hides any minor scratches as well.

Just buy new hardware and use grade 8 or higher. Doesn't cost much and you retain your stock hardware when you want to sell the truck. Pretty simple fix IMO 👍👍

Mud tires help along with a winch. Offroaders or trail rigs will tell you , get rid of the stockers and get some mud tires. 🙄 relying on just a winch is not ideal 👍🧐👍

It was a small diameter bolt so I think my volume setting was appropriate

How far out does this measure from the bumper. I ask, because my garage is pretty small and I have limited room with my 2022 Ram 2500,

I’d weld the bolts holding the bumper…that & your winch will walk away in many places.

Had my winch walk off up in Chicago when I parked for a few hours at the Museums. Took all the led lights, the winch, and a few things from the bed, with out a damn scratch to the paint. Some of these thieves could make some big money doing installs for a company if they had the chance.

Did you have to turn the front sensors off, or do the sensors on the sides still function?

They still work. The adaptive cruise still works. It affects the front camera a little bit but I can still see

I won't bother you again after this, by mentioning your transmission, but isn't the transmission cooler right behind the opening you covered when you installed the winch mount?

Yeah, but also my transmission temperature is displayed on the dash at all times and it has never got hot so clearly not causing a problem

How much you pay for it? 🤔

If you had it in order, and you know you could use a 12,000 pound winch better, why did you order a 8000 pound. 🤔

Well, there goes ~200 lbs more payload 🥲. Worth it! Looks pretty good and not having to cut into or modify the bumper seems good, unlike mine 🤫
