Adding A Predator Proof Chicken Run to My Coop

In this video I am adding a predator proof run that is 16x14ft on my 20x14ft shed. I also dug around 10 inches below the ground on the outside so the hardware cloth was more effective from digging predators. It took a couple days for the Cornish Cross chickens to get it, but the Road Island Reds were out the first day to see what they could explore.

Thank you for the video. I was looking for ideas how to build an enclosed outside run and this really helps

Yes all the white birds are Cornish Cross meat birds.

@@naturallyrootedgrowersI thought they were grown outside. Nice run, they will appreciate it. This week-10 days it's 111-114° , then 106° another week. The layed eggs are practically soft bouled if not picked up asap

Why do your white chicken walk like that, so different than your brown chicken.

The cornish cross breed of chicken just grows so large and fast that its legs cant keep up. We lost 5 chickens in the 8 weeks we raised them. Its said certain organs outgrow others and cause them to pass away too soon.

@@naturallyrootedgrowers now with the extra space to move, they will exercise 😂 and probably do better. My layers are free range, but i need to contain them to grow a garden. Love your simple run idea.
