Adam Savage Industries Apron : Tool Review

Wait, this isn't Friday!!!! Well this isn't a build video. Today, Dad and Dom review a tool from a fellow youtuber. Adam Savage from created a shop apron and sells them on the Savage Industries website. We bought two of these and we are reviewing this apron in our workshop. This is not a paid review.

Great review! I have been looking for a new apron for a while and have been considering the Savage Industries apron, so I love the timing of this one! I like how you were able to praise the apron while still offering constructive criticisms of it. No apron is going to be perfect for every person, you two did a great job of making the aprons work for you while offering easy, inexpensive mods that anyone could make to tailor it to their use.

Very cool video guys, y'all are hilarious together! I love the idea of wearing an apron, and have two of them. I just have never been able to make them a permanent thing I use, mainly because of heat. My shop is currently not climate controlled, and down here in the New Orleans area it is crazy hot majority of the year!

Nice surprise video. Appreciate you sharing about the apron. I need a good one I guess. Some say all woodworking men need an apron and a beard. Well, I have one of those.

You have an epic beard. That's where I store my important sawdust for later.

I'd be interested in knowing what sizes you got. The sizing is somewhat inconclusive.

Watch his show or his videos here on KZread. Adam does nothing really precision when it comes to woodworking. He does what I would pretty much consider commando style woodworking. This isn't meant as a ding he just doesn't do really precise woodworking. He makes utlitarian stuff for his shop or quick storage options. Not the kind of family heirloom type shop furniture you see people here on KZread seem to favor either. It's quick and dirty and it works. That's all that he needs his woodworking to do. I've never seen him mark wood with anything more precise than a #2 pencil or a pico marker. The only really exact measuring and marking I've seen him do is when it comes to metal which is MUCH more finicky when it comes to being a little off. What he uses to precisely mark metal never seems to be in his everyday kit carried in his apron.

Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. We appreciate you watching our content. We’ve been wearing these aprons for the last eight months in the shop and were thinking about doing another review in a few months after a year has passed. They could use a few added or modified features and a 2.0 design enhancement for sure, but the quality of the materials is fantastic. We haven’t had any rips, tears, or punctures and we’ve been able to make a lot of projects with them for sure.
