They were so unique, fresh, had the coolest look, and great upbeat original songs they were the complete package. They never really got the acclaim they deserved. There is nothing like it today. Lip-synching? Really? That's the one thing about the dance shows, especially in the image-paramount eighties: lip-synching was run amok. I would have loved being on the show on this day in 1981, but I would have definitely come away slightly disappointed because the fellas didn't keep it live and real.

The bass player, Gary Tibbs, is miming to recordings on which he didn’t actually play or sing. Kevin Mooney played bass on these recordings and subsequently exited the band before this particular television appearance was taped.
My God ,was he hot !

Marco is an excellent guitarist that gets overlooked (cool shirt). Fun when we bought and enjoyed (heavy rotation) . Still enjoy.

It is a cracking song 'Antmusic' - a well crafted pop song. Adam's stage presence is great here and his clothes are amazing.......

@@kurtpena5462 Firstly, you will never burst my bubble. I note that you have stopped by here to either watch the video or comment on the comments. More importantly though, what about the music you create. Any good?
Awesome :D :D!!!....i remember seeing their, "Ant Music" performance on vh-1 back in 96', but i've always wanted to see their, "Dog Eat Dog" performance on Bandstand :D :D, Thanks :D :D!!!
i have a record of adam and the ants i have this song i love it i also love adams beauty and the 2 drummers.
I always thought this guy had a unique sound. Who would you compare him to and what type of music would you call Adam Ant?

Adam has stated that he doesn’t want to characterize his music into any genre. That’s why he came up with the term “Antmusic”
Me and my sister loved them ❤ their videos were like little movies 👍🏻 Adam was so pretty 😍
Like the group Bow Wow Wow, i often wonder what was the British Musical origin of their Colonial, Native American, Pirate, Face Paint, Mohawk Hair style and dress?!
The second incarnation of Adam and the Ants.
Some say Jonny Depp copied keith from rolling stones....to me it's clear... 😁
I Love adam 🐜
That was wonderful :)
They are all so young and good looking...
Wow that brought back some memories
So good!
Amazing
This is great!! Kx
Very, very few of the performances on AB were live. Most were lip synched.

Lip sync it sounds exactly like album witch I'm proud to own. Bought it at moors music emporium Bridgeport ohio. 1980 something.
Lol this sounds exactly like the version they released, i think they might be miming... i don't doubt them at all btw they are all very capable of singing so well live but this just sounds exactly like the iTunes release lol. Has the track version been laid over? Lol, just curious :P Just he does seem to be very far away from the microphone when the track is so clear :P WOOOOOOOO!!!! Go Adam, you rock so much :D -giggles-

Every single one of these videos has someone acting like he is making some kind of discovery about the lip-syncing. If you were a kid then, you were just glad to see the performers and hear the song. It wasn't accessible anytime and anywhere like now.

I hate to say it, but yes, every performer was required to lip sync to the record. This is why when John Cougar performed on AB, the band used instruments that weren't on the recoding and they were having a gas about it lol

Lip-synching? Really? That's the one thing about the dance shows, especially in the image-paramount eighties: lip-synching was run amok. I would have loved being on the show on this day in 1981, but I would have definitely come away slightly disappointed because the fellas didn't keep it live and real.

No, it was the show format that forced it. Top of the Pops was the same way. Many artists who would NEVER lip sync if they had a choice were made to in order to appear.
