10 months ago I ditched the power cord and started using the Festool KSC 60 cordless sliding compound miter saw.
The dual 18v battery life is impressive, In my own testing, I was able to cut 301 2x6s before a charge was needed. That is easily a full day of complex cutting add the available energy set and you can work as long as needed by keeping them in a rotation.
The KSC, attached to the under frame (UG UG-KA-KSC 60) stores compactly in my van as and when it's time to use full setup with the extensions only takes about 60 seconds.
The KSC 60 has a twin column ball bearing slice that smoothly and accurately cuts material up to 2 3/8" thick and and 12" wide - it can cut up to 60 degree angles and 47 degrees bevels. The LED spotlight highlights exactly where the blade will cut and is still visible in bright working conditions
