Ryan and I both tried the Stetsom 3kW amps a few years ago and we both had them blow up. I showed the Timpano, which was a rebranded Stetsom and it went POW! The signal you’re seeing is most likely EMI caused by improper output filtering. These amps could be communicating with aliens and who knows what the signals are telling them 😊

I remember seeing the Timpano a year or two ago? The noise the amp made at 1 ohm had me not wanting to force it through any more testing... It was sooo sketchy the whole time. I think I'm lucky it didn't go poof!

@@Facekicker I think you made a good choice. The Amp Dyno tests are brutal and some amps just can’t handle those resistors. Most of the Brazilian brands have beefed up their amps for the US market and I’ve seen newer versions of Stetsom out but haven’t tried them yet (Bass versions?)

@@Facekicker I could tell you turned the signal off immediately as soon as you saw distortion lol. Cheap Brazilian amps will pop on the dyno quick.

i run my valcan 8k at 0.5 ohms and it works great! doesn't get hot ,at all great amp!

I have a stetsom vulcan 8k and it kicks ass.had it for about a yr and a half now no issues.doesnt even get warm.stetsom are the original brazilian amp.

I’ve have a Stetsom Export 8k 2 ohm and I had a 6k before that. No issues no noises I run a 300 amp alternator with 2 XSpower D7500. Kicker solo X 18 motors on 15 inch frames. Then Adire Kali 15’s. I’ve ran only Stetsom amps. There 4channels I’ve had issues with all covered under warranty luckily there mono exports are solid in my experience. Was think on getting a volcan when they first came out but my Stetsom 8k is still jammn

Do you happen to have an ampere aa2000.1 laying around? Ive never saw one on the dyno ever ive been waiting/looking for about 4-5 years now lol

My 3k works great.

My Vulcan 5k was used for maybe 3 weeks. I had a smart3 taramps before that on same setup and it lasted years but after 3 weeks the Vulcan 5k would power on but had no output at all. One of the speaker terminals looked slightly burnt. Idk wat happened to it but I got 3 weeks for my $400 or $500. I don't remember exact cost but very disappointed. And I I had 2 2ohm subs wired up not down low on impedance.

I never knew shutting and amp on and off for a test turned into a problem

I've got the 8K 2 ohm, DONT trust the clip light, you can get a square wave out of it and the light still won't be on

This why I avoid stetsom🤷‍♂️ what ya think about that Surge Audio 10k? Looking to upgrade to a Korean atleast 8k, from the smart 5k you recommended to me about a year ago. And I've loved it! I'm pushing 2 sundown Xv3 12's.

Given the history of the "owner" of Surge, I would stay away from them also. Try looking into Ruthless Audio which is using the same build house, or even our JSS 7500.1 model.

Absolutely nothing wrong with stetsom. Running one of the newer bravo bass 5K at 1ohm absolutely zero issues. And going to half bridge is in not rrally upgrading - upgrading and staying full bridge would be going to Powerus amps (they rival any high end half bridge amps) ... Now that being said it's just a matter of preference really. But what face kicker said avoid surge at all cost with the drama going on between those guys. Go with Ruthless audio or Synergy audio absolutely top-notch half bridge amps getting more than your money's worth for either of the two.

@@lewokejames I said upgrade cuz I got a 5k and going to an 8k. I don't mean it in a brand way or korean vs full bridge. I love Taramps! Been using em for 3 yrs now. I have heard the newer stetsom amps are pretty solid. But big d blowing one deff didn't reflect well on them. And I hear the guy that owned wolfram now owns surge. And I remember alot of ppl that wanted to warranty stuff and was ghosted. So that kinda rubs me the wrong way. But deff thanks for the suggestions! 🙏

So far Hifonics hasn't done rated power, including the Brutus models. I'll see if I can get a Gamma 4000 at a decent price though and if so, I'll run it.

Not likely. Probably high frequency switching noise making it through the LC filter.

Stetsom was founded in 1989 and soundigital was founded in the 90’s. So if anything soundigital is a clone.

@@Facekicker just because a lot of uneducated people call Brazilian full bridge boards ‘Soundigital’ clones doesn’t mean they are correct. Stetsom is the original Brazilian amps to hit the north American market. Now it’s the Chinese making clones of the Brazilian full bridge amps

@@MrDanielknew the terminology came about because the first Chinese clones were a direct copy of Soundigital model, and not a Stetsom. I'm not arguing whether or not Stetsom came first or who designed the board first. I used the term very generally speaking. Next time I run a Stetsom, if I do, I will not call it an SD clone.

It's def cheap power, $400 for 5kw I think it's safe to assume it'll be noisy cheap power. The synergy wfo 3k is almost a grand. You pay for what you get. I don't blame you for being nervous, big D has blown a few of these up haha

Test it in a car not all amps like dynos
