Acura TL Easy Diy Synchromesh friction modified fluid change !

hey youtube! I made a video of an easy mod i did to my 2007 acura tl type s 6mt! In this video i address the notchy shifting with oem manual transmission fluid. So i decided to change out the trans fluid with ac delco synchromesh friction modified fluid part number 10-4014! this is an easy diy that anyone with basic hand tools can complete, i did mine in under an hour! by the end of the first test drive my transmission was shifting smooth as butter!! i highly recommend this mod to your acura / honda v6 manual transmission for the smoothest shifts possible! hope this helps someone someday!

Great video! I've heard about this but was I kinda worried if I should not go back with the oem acura fluid that I currently use. This video has helped me make my decision to go forward with the synchromesh fluid for my 3.7 6mt

Great Video. I have honda accord with manual. It only grinds at 3rd gear due to synchro worn. Will it help ?

I know people have had good luck with it on the acura tl's but I'm not sure about accords. You could double check on an honda forum if this would help your car. Good luck!

@@McGo101 thank you for your reply The grind only happens if the rpm is anywhere above 1500 rpm If less than that It gosles in smoothly

I have an 08 tl type s 6 speed but I looked in the book and it says 2.6 quarts full change but I’ve thrown in already 3 qt and nothing is coming out of the check bolt so idk what’s up with this car. I ended up filling it until it was draining out of the check bolt hole so it clearly takes Almost 4 quarts.

Ahh that's crazy yea I got 4 bottles just to be sure and I still have almost a full one left. I've also heard but not confirmed that the Trans holds alot more fluid then what comes out, I'm sure some gets stuck in the internals but again I'm not 100%.

Do you have a OEM part number for the washer for the drain plug? I'm doing this task soon...

I’m sure you did this by now but on my 2008 TLS 6 speed manual it’s the same crush washer as the oil drain bolt 14mm washer. The fill is larger but I didn’t bother changing that one as it’s horizontal on the motor.

No fluid came out when I removed the plug. Should i be worried?

I would be concerned myself. I would fill and recheck the next day after a short drive to ensure it is infact full. Also just double check u pulled the right drain bolt
