Actuary Applies Systems Theory: Margin of Safety

In this video, I discuss my favourite topics in systems theory and real-life applications. I share my personal experience of trying to excel at everything and the pressure it brought. I realised that it's impossible to give 100% in every aspect of life and that optimising for one area can lead to neglect in other areas. Accepting this fact relieved a lot of pressure, and I decided to make trade-offs that suited me. This led to a more balanced life in the long run. I emphasise the importance of keeping a margin of safety to adapt to constant changes in our environment and circumstances. I conclude the video by encouraging viewers to consider areas in which they might be optimised and potentially vulnerable to change.
