Anna, I just don’t think that KZread is too much for you b/c no one really cares how often you share or what you share just that you do share. So I will not say goodbye to you at all. The 6 months you were gone was just a bit concerning because you don’t seem like a person who wouldn’t give a quick update. So, you’ve given your update now and that is good and you don’t owe anyone anything however know that just because we are in the outer ring of your circle does not mean that we do not deeply care about you. So keep that in mind as you “take care of yourself”. We do care Anna, at least many of us, if not almost all of us, do care. Additionally, you offer so much, especially to those who can hear wisdom in the way you present it. So, yes, I think your creative spirit will come back to this in the sense of freely sharing yourself in some way, not to make an income but to do so as your heart and soul desires. Until then, be well but this is not goodbye.

Mahalo for filling us in in leaving instead of just disappearing! May love find you as you find yourself and the direction you feel led to go…you do you…no doubt if you ever return, most of us will be here…

Anna, Thank you for the kind words. I hope my small gift will help you transition in your life and perhaps allow you to buy a few more books (ha). I am a physician working and teaching at a major university. For many years I also taught philosophy, specifically, stoic philosophy (think Marcus Aurelius, Seneca and Epictetus). I mention these things because as you can imagine, I have interacted with hundreds of young adults over the years and that is why I think you are amazing. You are intelligent, courageous, thoughtful, articulate and very well spoken. I am so impressed that you journal and are an avid reader; activities that most young people eschew but yield huge dividends. You have quite an eclectic book list on Goodreads (love that). I don’t think you realize just how special you are. You are indeed “wired differently” in a remarkably good way! You can count me as “one of your people.” Speaking as a father with three daughters, I am sure that your father is extremely proud of the young lady that you have become. I’ll close with my favorite stoic expression: “Viva ut vivas.” This phrase encourages people to live life to the fullest and make the most of every moment as life is fleeting. This is a mature, healthy and intelligent decision. Anna is too brilliant and wonderful to suffer the negativity (and sometimes dangerous moments) youtubers are exposed to. Sad, but certainly understand and agree with your priorities. Have immensely enjoyed the journey, hope you do come back occassionally, even if just once a year or something. But more importantly, I hope you find the creative outlet(s) that allow you to have a fulfilling live & continue to impact others. Crazy you mention the cracker barrel in Asheville.. I went on a 2 month road trip from Ontario to Florida and back in March/April 2023 in my ProMaster sleeping at mainly cracker barrels and rest areas throughout. There was only one time the entire trip I felt uneasy about any daytime parking or sleep spot and it was the Cracker Barrel just East of Asheville. I believe there was a tent encampment in the woods bordering the parking lot but I didn't want to stick around to confirm my suspicions. After being there late at night for 10 mins I heard yelling and commotion and saw people walking around so I just bailed on instinct. I ended up staying at the Cracker Barrel closer to Downtown a few nights with no issues but I wouldn't be surprised if your incident happened at that one either. It's just one of those cities that attracts lawlessness for whatever reason. Anyways, I ended up driving the Blue Ridge Parkway from nearly start to finish so I hope you got to experience that and did some of those hikes up there too. For me it was an incredible week or so weaving through the mountains on empty roads that I won't forget. Also respect for doing what you feel is right. KZread sounds like a tough gig with too much uncertainty, I know I'm not built for it. Embrace the 9-5 life!

Good for you Anna, it’s been a real joy and privilege to follow you on part of your life’s journey. I learned so much, about you, about nature, about the world, and strangely enough…about myself. I’m a better person because of you & your videos. I have more optimism about our world, about hope for the future, about meeting someone like you someday. Your are an amazing, unique, special, & talented person, and your genuineness, your natural kind heartedness, along with an instinctive ability to slide gracefully and so beautifully into emotional vulnerability, gives me hope that, maybe I’ll meet someone like you someday. That someone like you is actually out there, where before I had all but given up hope. It’s bittersweet to see you go. Like a rare bird, that somehow found its way onto a tree in my backyard, just outside my window sill. And just for a little while, I got to marvel in its perfect colors, dazzling feathers, and most beautiful song. This bird brightened my life, and brought color to everything around it, making a Monet painting of my drab, ordinary backyard yard with every step, and a masterpiece of poetry, with every graceful flutter of her wings from limb to limb, tree to tree. And now she’s gone. She flew away, following some inner instinct, and natural sense for the pull of Earth’s gravity, that is the native eloquence of birds such as she. Never meant to stay, this was always her fate, her destiny. But man, just for a little while, the sweetest little while, I had it all…and it was awesome. I’ve always said that, “in every part of the world, there is a part of yourself waiting for you to retrieve it”. And that’s what you have done. Most people go their whole lives, and retrieve so few parts of themselves, Only the parts that are at their fingertips or immediately convenient. Not Anna Uncharted. You literally went out there, Alone…into every forest, to every mountain, oceans, Canyons, rivers & lakes. Winter, Rain & storms, up And down every highway, City to city, parking lot to parking lot. You actually DID it. So courageous, so very brave. You went out and retrieved all those distant parts of yourself, that were there the whole time…just waiting. And now you have them, and it’s time to do something with it. They’ve shaped you, made you stronger, better, a leader, given wind to your wings of enlightenment. You KNOW now. Your journey was never meant to be forever, it was never meant to define you, it was meant to ADD to you. To consolidate distant, unknown parts of yourself. So Of course it’s time for a change now, because You are no longer -Anna Uncharted- You are -ANNA DISCOVERED! Hey Anna, I happened to come across your channel while I was dealing with the loss of my mother. In between dealing with the grief that goes along with such a loss and handling her estate, I binged through your videos as a form of escapism. Initially I watched for the van-life/travelling component, but after a while I found myself enjoying just listening to your musings and insights. On a selfish level, I wish you could keep going, but you are wise to listen to yourself and to do what you need to do to take care of yourself and your future.
