This is meant as a parody of a Jay Leno segment (where the clippings were from actual newspapers).

I get that "actual Items" is NBC intellectual property...but making up fake ads is not. What doesn't he still do stuff like his under a different name? This is much better than any of the crap he has ever done on TBS.

What about "books that didn't sell well" series? It's a very similar concept. He actually used to do a lot of stuff based on this concept, though he doesn't really do that anymore with the new format (don't quote me on that, I'm not from US so the only thing I get to watch is whatever Team Coco uploads on YT)

mick...don't embarrass yourself. Letterman sure as shit did NOT do it first. IT is an OLLLLLLLD bit. Pre-dating JOHNNY CARSON's Tonight Show. Leno simply brought back a Tonight Show bit from back when Letterman was was barely a TEENAGER. She sure as fuck did not "steal" it from Letterman.

This is such a dumb and just not funny segment. This is an example of an extremely lazy comedic exercise. It's not even comedy, it's just portraying a phrase in this 2 step process of picture+caption. There's no comedic value in that, it's literally just a PHRASE, a PHRASE of words, not a joke, a PHRASE.

Only a douche with a name as dull as "bob smith" would say something so predictable and bland ... the douche couldn't even capitalize his own name.
