Great way to get on the news actually. If a scientist would have said that something needs to change or they'd held a normal protest you wouldn't know about it now ;) Also there's glass in front of the painting so why are you mad?

Well, your position is as irrational as theirs. What does the cause itself have to do with the way it is manifested? So if I go around naked asking to stop hunting whales...you would be more sympathetic to whale hunters because you don't like me walking naked? Does not make sense. Separate both.

I understand the motivation, but hate the method. Do a sit-in in front of it with a banner or something, this way, the thumbnails and pictures on all press will have your banner in it, not some soup making you look ridiculous. Edit: I want to clarify that I am in support of the protest and it was clearly intended to cause no harm to the painting (judging by intervies, the people who targeted it seem to be well aware of the plexiglass!) What I fear is that, as it is already happening, the "oh my god they stained the Mona Lisa" part will take center stage in coverage and not the protest itself.

Very disappointing to see DW using a misleading title to grab clicks. I know it is a numbers game but this doesn’t seem to fit in the solid foundation and the trustworthy and unbiased frame of DW. Why make it sound like the painting was damaged, and use the word “defaced” for an art piece that’s protected behind a bullet proof glass. It would still be interesting enough for your type of audience to click even if you used a more honest title. I don’t think the majority of your audience would be people who are looking for titles of “dramatic content”. Both the people who already follow, and the ones that are likely to start following your channel would still click that video even if you reflected the fact on the title as it is in reality, because it’s still news. You are not a KZreadr who stitches short clips of accidents or other dramatic footage together to create content and rely on the title to get clicks. You are in my consideration a respectable news channel and that’s why this little thing irritated me so much! Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad that the painting is not damaged. But it’s quite disappointing that the title was exaggerated to increase clicks. Trust is such a thin line that one should be careful when it’s the main anchor point to their audience!

Actually no, personal choice is limited to the availability of sector control output. Just because you want to eat healthy by choice, doesn't mean there are a wide range of healthy option in the market at affordable prices, if at all. Especially in a corporatized market, the customer's want doesn't determine the goods you get. The companies decide what is available in the market. For the purpose of food, you can have 4-5 different companies putting out a range of food, each 25 variety. But none of them healthy, you still end up with zero choice. Most people ignore how much companies decides for you, because you are given an illusion of choice in the variety of the same product. Doesn't just apply to food of course.

Turkey, tofu and kidney beans are also cheap sources of protein. You can buy 12kg bags of oats for about $14 and it lasts over 6 months. It actually costs a lot more eating junk food. Vegetables can be pricey but again, you'd be spending more buying a block of cheese. I honestly have no idea what people are talking about when they say healthy food costs more. Maybe if the idea of healthy is eating salmon and high quality blueberries? But I'd argue you don't need that level of quality unless you're a competitive athlete and the benefits you'd see from it would be marginal. The idea we're forced to eat junk food because of capitalism is honestly just bunk.

Take Bre*!t in short: Bre*!teer claims leaving will protect home grown agriculture, instead it made the sector unsustainable, poof, one option gone. Which has far greater consequences then just loosing options. And the cost may fall to you, because that option may disappear before it can even trickle-down. The whole food pyramid and an assortment of health diet myths last century was due to lack of understanding, industry lobbying. So for decades, most of the first world aren't even particularly aware of healthy living. So for decades, the choice are entirely limited by the industries. A better example is environmental protect and climate change. Because it's almost entirely down to the choice of governments and companies, not the individual consumers. Sometimes it's entirely due to the limits of technology itself, not everything is malicious greed or incompetence. And that's not even counting the trends that didn't take vs. the trends that did took hold. If something becomes an industry 'norm', then that is limit of your choices. The key is that you don't know what is anti-consumer, what is not. I only use 1 word of 'affordable prices', so that I cover as much possible reasons, and there are many.
